Cb125f knocking noise from top end of exhaust

hello.
I use my cb125f as a daily commuter and unfortunately on Thursday it developed some fault and I can hear noise coming from top end of exhaust. Noise is there only in high and low revs.
I know its not easy fix most probably but would love to hear input at what it can be as I still need to get to work and will using it daily until it refuses to go.
I don't want to buy new 125 as I have already honda 500 waiting for me when I pass my test.

Is the header tight to the barrel? Are there any obvious signs of leakage or cracking around the header?

Can't see any crack there to be fair .
I was inspecting it yesterday and all seems OK to me.
It was first thing I've checked.

Get a bit of wood, kindling or some such shape, a bit of batten, whatever, and press it on various exhaust components while you provoke the rattle, to see what's making the noise.

Will try this later on today to see if it helps and its exhaust or something with an engine

Well. I'm not trying to be rude, but is there enough oil in it?

If you bung up the end of the silencer by putting your thumb over it, what happens to the noise (recording)?

If you get a wooden spoon or similar (bit of wood, long screwdriver...) and put the blunt end to your ear against that triangular flappy bit, and push it gently so your ear is shut, and then put the other end to various parts of the engine (this is a makeshoift "engine stethescope"), then does that pin down where the noise is coming from any better?

I've just changed oil 2 days before problem appeared.
I check my oil level twice a week because I know many problems with motorbike are caused by low oil levels.
I've tried using stethoscope but my hearing is damaged so can't really diagnose this way.

I'm guessing only way to check it is to take it apart ?

Make sure your tappets are also set correctly first. I had a yamaha SR with a similar noise. The exhaust tappet had worked loose.



Clutch is easy on a bike you need to take the right hand cover off as you sit on the bike then inspect. Look for worn teeth on the clutch plates where they come into contact with the basket and also the clutch bearing on the pressure plate.
