Hey guys,

New to the forum so first of all hey there!
I'm also a relatively new rider but been on the roads for a fair few years.

I was unfortunately in my first collision the other day after being on my brand new KTM Duke.

A little back story. Traffic, backed up in a single lane road and stationary for quite some time. I approach a bus to which I intend to overtake to reach the front. (on coming traffic was stopped at a red light far far ahead) A chap in a Ford decides he wants to peak in front of the bus so pulls out, I've slowed down and anticipated this.

He's moved back in behind the bus, but low and behold at the last possible second whilst I'm next to him... he pulls out resulting in me clipping him and being launched off the bike.

Result, left side of my bike is damaged - gear broken, clutch broken and sustained injuries to whole left side (no broken bones thank god!). However now I'm left with lingering numbness throughout patches on my foot & leg.

He said that he never saw me and wasn't looking, my solicitors say they feel there is a good case for this. Was curious to get anyone else's input on this, if they have had similar situations or know of similar situations themselves?

Peace out!

Mike

We need a diagram, preferably using MSPaint, before we can offer assistance.

Sure thing, I have used my amazing artistry skills to try and help give a better idea of what I'm talking about.

The tiny green rectangle being me filtering up the lane of parked traffic, the red rectangle being the stationary bus and the blue being the vehicle that pulled out on me. As I got near to him as I mentioned his final position was on the middle of the road and a little over quite possibly. His reasoning was he just wanted to see in front of the bus.

Traffic was backed up due to traffic lights in the northern most point of the image. I collided at the green X as I tried to evade him and was knocked out onto the opposite side of the road a few metres further down.

Looks like you're quids in.

You might get some bullshit about filtering past a junction, but ignore it.
