In this heat, thermals, 2 t-shirts, hoodie, jacket with lining, jeans, bike trousers (again with lining), 3 pairs of socks, steel toe capped boots, ski mask, lid, scarf, heated grips etc

Not all of us got this "heatwave"

No I'm NOT FUCKING BITTER ABOUT IT AT ALL Evil or Very Mad

32 degrees on my patio in Bristol at the moment. It's 25 indoors in the shade.
I'd go out for a ride but have been unable to resist getting involved with the 4 one pint bottles of ice cold Cobra I had
in the fridge. Pottering about in the garden now instead, I'll ride tomorrow.

Is there anything that provides some protection without you overheating? I'm going out in a t-shirt and shorts now but would like some magical fairy dust to protect me if a pothole 'appears out of nowhere'.

I use a Frank Thomas XTI mesh jacket when it's 25+.
Titanium panels on shoulders, inner shoulder armour, elbow armour and I use a forcefield back insert in it because
they are mesh too. My Mrs has one as well but in different colours.
I paid £18 for mine off of ebay, (auction win) and got the wifes from a Gumtree ad for £20. When you hold them up to the light
you can see right through them.

Short cuff gloves get a bit of wind up your sleeves too which helps a bit.

Wear something like this underneath, then you don't have to worry about that.

Kevlar jeans, knee and hip armour. Army boots. Light leather gloves or kevlar + leather + hard armour tactical gloves or very occasionally knitted kevlar glass handling gloves for local jaunts. Never bare handed, ever, I don't even do that on a pushbike.

Open faced lid with awesomebodgetm chin bar.

Lightweight mixed leather / textile jacket with knee/elbow/shoulder armour, vents front and back and big zips up the wrists. Unzip it as necessary (has not been necessary yet).

Heatwave has been postponed up here, but the rain was pretty vertical today which made a nice change. Waterproofs and gore-tex gloves always carried in top box, of course.

To work, Alpinestars Valparaiso with all the vents open. Gloves and boots.
on a ride, Dainese Air Tourer SST, gloves and boots
Sometimes will put leather trousers on.

Around town I'll just wear an open helmet, gloves and normal clothes. T-shirt or whatever.

Ex paid for all that gear. Very Happy

I got the day off work today, hoping to get out later once the weather has cooled down a bit.

Nothing better than a summer evening ride through the countryside with fresh summer air IMO!

Will be leathered up! Thumbs Up

If it's very hot. Shorts, a hawaiian shirt, good quality sunscreen and some shades.

If local regulations allow, I'll substitute a bandanna for a helmet.
https://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/stinkwheel/heritage.jpg

In the UK, I can usually still cope with a pair of lightweight combat/kevlar trousers and a leather jacket (sometimes unzipped). Lightweight merino t-shirt under it for wicking and lack of stink.

Jeans and a very lightweight zipper jumper, and gloves.

Was out in a tshirt again this morning though, you sure do get some odd looks. It was about 12 degrees, humid and not raining. And that's unbearably hot in the city.

Living in America must be horrible on a bike.

If it's a fast ride - ie country roads or motorway, I'll chuck the leathers and jacket on. But if it's into the city, screw it. I'd wear Lycra on a pushbike in the same situation so I'm not going in looking like a bomb disposal unit just because this bike happens to have an engine.

Shorts and T shirt, flip flops.

On the bike, Kevlar jeans, leather jacket, walking boots and gloves. Like normal.

RST ventilator jacket & trousers with all the layers off.
and nothing under
without the waterproof and thermal it's pretty much nylon mesh with armor so it's quite fresh as long as you're moving Thumbs Up

I wear what keeps me most comfortable. If it was a long motorway haul I'd go for jacket and kevlar jeans and ditch the jacket when not going hyperspeed.
