I received this parcel today (banana for scale and to obscure address from Cansa's database)

Once opened, I found this:

The green box you can see at the top is the temperature sensor I ordered for my wife's car... That's it.... nothing else.

Seems a bit of overkill to me... I guess they had run out of Jiffy bags...

I had the same size box earlier in the week from Euro Car parts with a can of brake cleaner rolling around in it. Must be a standard box they use

yep, my mate got a bottle of cordial delivered a while ago, in a box twice that size. I can only hope that they ran out of smaller boxes and preferred to honour the quick delivery rather than wait for appropriate sized boxes to arrive.

What world is your mate living in to require a bottle of squash to be individually delivered.

They will have a contract with the courier to deliver a certain size box for a fixed price per box.

I also bet that size box stacks neatly in a delivery cage and can go into the automated handling system.

The courier will pick up a cage full of those boxes, wheel it into his van then wheel it out again into the depot. The conveyor system will sort it into other cages for distribution to local depots.

This makes it WAY less likely for the stuff to get broken and quicker/cheaper to process. The goods are only ever man-handled or removed from a cage in the last van of their journey.
