Hi everyone,

Very much hoping someone has the missing link for what has been a very frustrating 7 days of tinkering!

I’ve got a CBF600SA (2005) and, to put it simply, I’m stumped!

The bike revs up to about 4k rpm and then suddenly loses power and hesitates significantly, to the point where I can’t even reach 30mph.. It happened out of the blue and there were no tell-tale signals. It’s the same in all six gears.

So far, I have checked:

- Air filter
- Fuel filter
- All hoses under tank/crimped fuel line
- Carbs (had all four lids off and checked for cracks/rips. Nothing.)
- Battery
- Spark plugs
- Oil

Any ideas, anyone?!

Happy to provide any more info that could help.

Thanks for your help,

Jordan

I'm really no expert, but it sounds like something to do with the carbs. Maybe a blocked jet or something.
I know I haven't really added much, but I'm sure someone else will be along to help.

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply - much appreciated.

Carbs are definitely an option. Tested the coil last night and it's fighting fit. Starting to look toward CDI unit and potentially the scrap yard!
