After a 600 mile trip over the weekend my battle axe tyres on the thunderpussy have finally had it, the front has reached the legal limit and the rear is close to it and well squared.

I do like the bridgestones but I've never tried anything else on the 'cat
What's the views on the maxxis range?
Where can I get reasonably priced tyres online?

I'm a dry day rider, do less than 1000 miles a year on ride outs and may have odd weekend touring rides, quite a conservative rider but do enjoy taking to the limit now and then so do want the trust in tyres 😉

Any suggestions and views welcome

Cheap tyres https://www.oponeo.co.uk/ is worth checking Thumbs Up

Take a look at a set of Pilot Road 3s, lots of people on here would recommend them.

Roundandblack on fleabay are quick, very reliable and usually reasonably priced.

The maxxis are a budget tyre and, speaking personally, are a better quality tyre than is reflected in their price BUT they aren't Michie Power Pilots and will do most of what you want very well - I tried the supermaxx diamonds and found they lasted much longer than the Power Pilots and had marginally better life than the Pilot Roads (PR2's are my tyre of choice) but if you ride them hard don't be surprised when they break out from under you.

Have you used this site before? £146 a set of Michelin pilot power 2ct! Damn cheap that is, not worth me considering the maxxis

I've used them before and it was all good. Mine came on a fully tracked delivery, when they were supposed to. No problems at all.

They also say that all their tyres, according to the DOT mark, are under 3 years old. You would need to be careful of that with some other sites.

It amazes me how cheaply they sell those tyres. And delivery is free.
Polish company, I wonder where they get them so cheap.

A set of Supercorsas SP V2 (manufactured this year) 120/70 R17 & 190/55 R17 for £200 delivered. That's £50-60 less than competitors who also add delivery charges on top of that.

I know. I was dubious myself first time I ordered, but a few other people here have had tyres from them and no problems.

The last set of PR3s I got were about £40 cheaper than anywhere else I could find at the time.

Not sure why you've been karma bombed for that, but they're not bad suggestions considering OP is only riding in dry weather & doing 1000 miles per year. I had Rosso's on my bike when I bought it, ran them for a week, decent tyres to be fair but needed replacing and Super Corsa race scrub's were cheaper.

Pilot Power 2ct's are also pretty good once warmed up. Okay in the wet and good enough in the dry.

Supercorsa's are outstanding when they're warm and it's dry, but don't last long. They can be had cheap if u buy race scrubs too. If you do get these and get caught out when it's wet and the tyres are cold, take it easy till they've warmed up.

I've ordered Pilot Road's and Power's from there. Pretty good customer service too along with the cheap prices & decent delivery time. Thumbs Up
