Hi All,

After some research I have narrowed to three the possible choices of first big bike.
Advice conflicts on whether to get something smaller first or go straight to this level of cc, what are your thoughts on this advice?

The short list of bikes is; 2012/13 Kawasaki versy 1000, 2014 Suzuki v-strom 1000 or 2008/9 BMW 1200 GS

Still to test ride either of them but would appreciate your thoughts on these machines.

Cheers,

Sleek

They are all lots of machine for your Money, but the first two are more so in that respect even if dynamically they lack some of the ability and or features of the much more pricey BMW.

I would also suspect that if you buy the one with a Suzuki badge, you will either get it for a very good cash price or with some sort of deal on extras with very cheap finance.

Buy any of them and you should be future proof for some time, and thus not be needing to change bikes anytime soon, unless your tastes change completely that is?

Have you test ridden any of them or even had a sit on and a good look over them in a shop yet?

The throttle isn't' an on / off switch, the bike only goes as quick as you ask it
