Hello all!

I´m kind of panicking right now...so here´s the storie - I bought a moped for my son on his birthday, and yesterday I rode my Suzukin vx800 side to side with my son on his moped to teach and show him how to act in traffic and such, we were riding for about 2-3 hours in a speed around 20-25km/h (12-15 miles/Hour).

It was hot yesterday and the cooling fan did work hard at times, but all in all it was a great day, the bike performed exellent.

Today I my vx800 didn't want to start at first, I tried to choke it but it made it worse, when it finally did start I couldn't rev it cause it died immediately.
I noticed yesterday that it was low on oil, hitting the low bar, so I drove down to the gas station to get some, but on the way over it behaved very poor. When in first gear it started fine as usual but when I tried to accelerate it did so very very slowly even though the engine rev'ed as expected... At the gas station I bought the oil, but when I was about to pour it in I noticed there was no oil at all visible in the inspection window...

The engine sounds ok to my ears, but then again I'm no mechanic and I haven't owned a bike in 20 years!

Have I damaged the engine?
Could this be a clutch problem?
What do you guys think?
What do I need to do to fix this?

Ofc me and my girlfriend is going on a bike holiday to Berlin-Prague-Amsterdam in about two weeks!

You rode your bike when it had little to no oil in it?

engine is most likely fucked.

When the engine has been run there might not be any oil showing in the inspection window. Are you sure you were low on oil? I can't see how it could be a clutch problem if the engine was running roughly.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Yesterday before I went out on the the moped escaped with my son I noticed it was on the minimum/low bar in the inspection window.

I thought it would be ok since I knew I was going turtle speed all day...

But today it didnt show any oil at the gas station...can´t be sure if it was completely dry though since I filled it up at once.

I see your point, but it was just hard to start, once it was running it was fine...

The reason I think/hope it´s the clutch is that I was driving in first gear sliding on the clutch doin garage turns all day...and the clutch wire adjuster is on its last threads.

This morning I took the bike to the local motorcycle mechanic, he listened to the engine for 30 seconds rev'ed it a couple of times and said: -"wet spark plugs".

After a change it is now running just as it should again! Very Happy
I think I almost kissed him, but I'm pretty sure I didn't since I'm still able to type and I am breathing...

The whole thing only cost me 10 euro.

Today is a good day! Wink

Oh, and thxs for helping!
