Got a call from a friend asking me if I had some leftover parts for a CB250, I do have some bits and pieces so that's really oiled my gears.

This comes at the perfect time because I'm clearing out my baby shed so my gears will be well oiled Saturday.

We both smirked Wink

Baby shed cleared out, all the old bike stuff out and ready for collection.

Cleaned out the shed too, cleared cobwebs and other shit, need to do a
few repairs mainly to the floor which has gone rotten so Sunday I'm off
to a local shop my late father used to get his timber supplies.

The baby shed is over 20 years old and has help up rather well, just
wished I inherited my fathers DIY skills.

Went into the centre of town today on the Rebel... TBH they should have branded it the "Hooligan" for the UK market Smile Really starting to appreciate what Honda were going for with this bike!

Zero birthdays are always a bit scary.
Getting disturbingly close to the barrel end of a big one myself.

Glad it was a happy one.

Big game hunting on the cul-de-sac.

A panicked neighbour received a phone call from her daughter this morning to say that their cat had bought home a mink, and the vicious beast was in their hall. The daughter and her friends were too scared to come downstairs for fear of a mauling. Could I come across and wrangle the animal out the door.....

Thanks to some very short-sighted animal rights activists breaking into a mink farm many years ago and releasing the vicious blighters into the ecosystem, we do have a breeding population of mink. If you've never seen a mink, they are big buggers and take rabbits, ducks, goslings and the occasional household pet, so taking one out is always a good thing.

I went across with a size 9 wellie (traditional critter-catching tackle), located something hissing behind the wash-basket, laid the open end of the wellie as close as I dare and waited. Sure enough within 5 minutes the toe-end twitched, indicating that the 'beast' had enterted the security of the dark, cheesy tunnel. I took a book and placed it over the entrance, carried it outside and asked for a spade. I placed the welly down and held the sharp end of the spade above the open end and slowly withdrew the book. Nothing happened. I waited. No sign of the mink. Getting impatient I tapped the wellie with my foot to encourage the killer to come out, whilst at the same time poised to dispatch it from above. Nothing happened....

Getting bored now I picked up the wellie, held it upside down and shook it. Instead of a snarling, gnashing mink, out fell a tiny little weasel, whick took one look at me, gave me the bird and fucked off into the bushes.

Cul-de-sac man points gained, I returned home the hero.

Mink cause utter havoc on the canal ecosystem. They kill for the fun of killing and anything is open season to them.

I've seen one try to take a cygnet and carry on dragging it away with the Cob going mental and beating the crap out of it with it's wings. It only let go when the Hen got involved but by then it was too late for the cygnet.

The animal rights people back then had no idea what they were unleashing on the countryside.

Booked my ticket to NZ*.
Very excited to see my daughter again Wub
*(well, Sydney; she's paying for our trip Sydney-NZ and back)

But somewhat intrepid about the idea of spending a couple of weeks mostly with my mother, though Shocked
Hopefully no matricide will occur.
