PR3's proving their worth.

Sleet, snow and rain during the day and then the temperature dropping, as you'd imagine, resulted in a not very nice road surface. Grip from the off and while, naturally, being careful with the throttle, brakes and so on comes into play I rode home without, for the most part, a care in the world.

Thumbs Up

iTunes likes to restore all the shit you've deleted back onto the phone so there might be hope.

if the notes are sync'd with your icloud they should be stored in there, otherwise they should be in the backup file too

Been meaning to get over to see my ex, who's a bit rickety lately due to heart problems, and quite a bit older than me, and as Anita begged me to keep an eye on her father now that she's living in Australia. But we often don't speak or see one another for 3 or 4 months at a time, and he gets by alright most of the time. I just nag him about hospital appointments, etc.

So I got a text from my daughter's oldest school chum, saying her mother in law (my ex's latest bird) is a bit worried cos she's not heard from him since Saturday, and usually they speak most days on the phone. They wondered could I pop round there (as I have his spare set of keys) and check he is okay.

So I intrepidly took two hours to battle through London afternoon traffic from Queens Park to Docklands, pick up the keys from my house, and then down to his place in London Bridge, dreading all the way what is going to greet me when I get there.

My innate sense of politeness required that before I just let myself in, I ring the doorbell ... just in case ... and he answers it.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY TO SEE THE OLD CUNT FOR THE LAST NEARLY 15 YEARS Laughing

Turns out his phone was broken and he'd not been feeling up to going out to get an upgrade.

Kind of annoyed I wasted the afternoon when I should have been working, but kind of glad the old fart isn't brown-bread, cos I was dreading the smell, dreading telling Anita, and imagining awful visions of him swollen and bloated (more than usual) and clawing at the carpet in his death throes, or that his cat might have eaten half of him or something.

So thank fuck he's still alive (and in surprisingly better nick than the last time I saw him, due to having been going to his pulmonary rehab)

Bloody men! Rolling Eyes

If it were me i'd sell it off & get a house on the outskirts of Gisburn.
(assuming i can get the visa & monies)

My aunt who lives in Auckland has said that her house has doubled in value over the past 15 years, she was tempted to sell off & move to Tarangua. Could get a very nice house over there if she does in the next few years, i hear that prices are rising in the bay of plenty area.

Don't know much about Gisborne, although I have cousins there. I'd want to buy freehold in those areas, and I expect that most of the land is leasehold with the local tribe as landlord. Not what I want to get into. Plus remote property = potential meth factory territory. No thanks. Prolly just stick to renting to students in Auckland for now.

Tauranga ... well, yeah, but its becoming more pricey as the lifestyle purchasers can no longer afford properties higher up that coast. If I were planning to buy in BoP, I'd probably buy in Whakatane or Rotorua and commute for work to Tauranga maybe, cos I have a fondness for old Smellytown, dating back to when I was a nipper.

Pretty certain most of the rest of (inland) BoP was bought up by smart property investors (and especially Aussies) back in the early "Noughties" - its a sore point with me, as that is EXACTLY where I wanted to buy (Kawerau, old forestry workers houses, going cheap back then) but my mother refused to discuss what she had done with my money (gambled it at the casino), and I missed the opportunity.

Or if I was going to live there, I'd go further south to Hawkes Bay (Napier), although ... earthquakes. Or the West Coast, South Island although ... rain.

My mum still lives in Auckland, she sold her house recently and downsized to an old people's village type of place with her boyfriend, similarly minted, so she's not short of a few quid, but I doubt I will see any of it, blacksheep hellkat Rolling Eyes She's too vitriolic for me to bother with, so I would be inclined to avoid visiting her very often, although I'd pay a flying obligatory visit when I'm there.

I'd prefer to just go and stay with my sister on the farm they are considering in the Coromandel Cool Thumbs Up I have an old school chum who lives in a bus on a farm in Thames, so I'd just buy a bike and buzz back and forth, between the two.

A mate in Auckland wants me to bankroll half her property to reduce her mortgage, and set up a deal where if she dies she will leave me the other half, and it's a beautiful house, with a little bit of bush at the back/native birds - its very tempting to raise the money on the equity of my flat - but I'm not far enough along that financial road yet.

Unlikely to move back any time soon, anyhow Rolling Eyes

My young man attracton vibes are apparently still humming...

I got invited (at about 1.30am) to a some kind of afterparty in Soho by a very charming young drummer called Mo Slicks ... but I had to turn him down cos I was still working, innit bruv.

Plus I just had on my old minging black velvet trousers and a black fluffy cardy Laughing

I would probably have been old enough to have been the grandmother of most people there anyway Rolling Eyes
