I've not done so much as a mile on my bike in this nice weather either. Truth is, I can't be arsed to get it out of the
shed and use it. Gave a pal a 20 mile pillion ride on it last Saturday morning when it was threatening rain (which
came in at about midday) because I hadn't taken him out on a bike for well over 20 years, and he'd never been on a
big bike before either which certainly got his full attention. As always lack of a new destination has a lot to do with why
I can't be arsed. I just don't know where to go on the thing, I'm not from round here and I can't just bog off and get lost
and find where I am again as I have to keep the time the dog is home alone reasonable. I keep saying it and not doing
it, but I really must get my satnav set up on the spacker.

This is why I gave up on pets. I found them tying me down too much.

Don't know who taught them to use rope so cleverly.

Picked up a couple of guys the other night, who were both sci-fi authors (one a first-time-published, and the other a multiple-time-published, both really interesting) ... they were on their way to Comicon at the Excel this weekend, and so I spent the whole time from SW1 to E16 listening to them talk "shop".

It was very interesting, and alongside another conversation with my similarly-motivated sister in law last weekend, it motivated me to apply myself to writing again.

One of them does a thousand words a day, and I thought "How much is that, actually?"

Turns out, its not all that much ... when you think how much drivel it is easy to write on here in one post...

So, especially not for an author fleshing out a decent plot and characterisations (which is where I was stuck).

And it has worked out well, as I have reviewed the writing process for the Serial Killer Convention book and decided to rework it into something else, so I now have a nice little cluster of serial killers to build from, that I had abandoned for about the last 2 years.
