That's the first thing I noticed, when I finally gave in at 16 and got glasses. Cool Thumbs Up

Had been squinting at blackboards my entire secondary school (fuck knows how I got out of there with decent exam results) ... but was determined to get my licence, as you can have one at age 16 in NZ, so I needed an eye test for driving lessons, and had to give in and get glasses.

The world suddenly got much clearer!

Started a conversation with a guy this evening with the question "So do you guys play football for a living, then?"

Shocked

(we'd just dropped off his latest teenage protege, to whom he had been giving guidance about living in Portugal, and I felt I had to fill the half-hour gap somehow)

So he was quite chatty.
Turns out (upon later googling him) he was Chris Nathaniel.
Nice enough chap, never heard of him
Cool Thumbs Up

Me neither.
I don't expect him to ever put in an appearance in the celebrity croaking thread.

Ha, true, although, I am sure he will be 'celebrity' enough for one of those get me out of the big jungle brother shows.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the Bruma mod for Skyrim, and started a new character (a Kajiit called Nobby) - but then I found a stray dog that had been abused, and I gave him back to his owner a snotty little kid. Then, later on, I worked out who I could rehouse him with, and started the game over, just so that I could rehome a pretend dog in a made up video game.

I'm pleased to report that Scruffy is very happy in his new home, with an inn keeper just outside Bruma.

Oh, I slaughtered a bunch of guards too, well it is just a video game. Laughing

Laid a new floor in my narrowboat. OK, nothing special but I am shit at laying floor coverings in a square room let alone a lunatic floor shape of a boat.

In the end I'm pretty chuffed with it.

Pear sponge pie, made with pears from our tree.

Going by Lidl's prices, reckon our humble little tree gave us about £300's worth of fruit this year. Thumbs Up

V5c arrived today so the reg transfer process is complete. All databases are up to date as far as I can see. Thumbs Up
Also, it's Gracies first birthday today and she's been to see the vet for a check up and been given a 100% clean bill
of health. She's a strapping 34.7kg at exactly a year old with some more filling out still to do. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up And finally the builders
are setting out with a view to starting tomorrow morning, digger arrives at 06.30. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Only problem is that I won't be able to
get the bike out into the street for a couple of weeks as the huge mound of earth they will be removing is going to be in the
way in the front garden until the grab lorry comes to remove it. Thumbs Down

On the other hand, I could probably destroy three plate-loads.
In the pursuit of vfm of course.

This was plate one of two, although the second was about half as much. I then tapped out and accepted defeat. Plus, I needed to save room for ice cream of course.

The weather - warm enough that women are still in summer attire... cold enough that the only thing left to the imagination is the colour of their nipples.

I've played so much Skyrim recently, that earlier today in GTA V for a moment I found myself attempting to pick some flowers to make potions out of.
