I'm calling it, that's a snow day.

OK, I'm at home looking out the window, but still, I think it's time for a mocaccino-and-rum. With marshmallows, it's really tipping it down out there.

Western Power were working on a pole at the bottom of our garden this morning when we got up. Our electricity was off, for about 30 minutes, then they bought a generator which was on for us for about an hour. After that, all was back to normal.

Got a phone call from Western Power while the workmen were here apologising and telling us a cheque for £65 is in the post for our inconvenience. Kerchinnng!!

What inconvenience?

The inconvenience of having to work out how to set the clock on the oven? At my hourly rate £65 might just about cover it.

It is one of life's dark arts, like setting up derailleur gears on a bicycle. There are rumours of people that can do these things, but I've never met them.

Pre Yewtree you just went outside and grabbed a 9 year old to do it. That's frowned upon now though.

No less than three men have chatted me up on three consecutive days.

They all made it quite clear that they found me ravishingly attractive. And what is more, at least two of them were obviously less than half my age.

This is the second day running that I haven't got out of bed until after midday.

AND ...

I just remembered that I have one of those cheese and bacon pastries (which I hid from Dennis*) in the microwave. Dance!

*Dennis is a food rustler. She likes to get into my handbag when I get home and look to see what I have left in there. Many mornings I come in late and dump my handbag on the sofa, only to wake to and find a shredded paper bag and no remains of a steak bake/cheesy bacon thing that used to be in there. Rolling Eyes
