DPF cleaning requires some very specialist equipment, what he probably meant, is that they didn't have the kit
to clean it properly. Avon Tuning could have cleaned it
Replacement was 3k for my Sprinter, partially why I sacked it off and got the Transit. The previous owner of the
Merc had a pattern DPF fitted, presumably after it was stolen (because London) and the engine management didn't
like it one bit. Initially I had the DPF gutted and the software deleted plus a remap, which sorted all of the issues
and made the van much nicer to drive and noticeably faster. But then learning of the plans to alter the MOT test to
check DPFs and emissions control equipment was functioning correctly and after hearing 3k Shocked Shocked Shocked from Mercedes
to put things back to factory spec again Middle Finger Neutral Middle Finger it was time to pass it on to a new owner. I checked the other day and
it's currently not taxed or insured, but it is MOT'd (would have been sold with a fresh one) which means they have
almost certainly sold it on to pikeys. Rolling Eyes

Gutted my DPF and had it remapped only because I have friends in the MOT testing trade.

Also last week (so not today but worth shouting about), Maplins in Birmingham, bought some DDR4 ram for half price. They price match and I said for a laugh "Ebuyer do that at £46.76 a stick", they price matched it without checking. Couldn't believe it.

Oh, I forgot ... the other day I picked up Dorien from Birds of a Feather. She's currently doing Young Frankenstein at the Garrick, and I took her home. Quietly and politely behaved herself in the back but even in her civvies that girl can't resist a bit of leopardskin legging Wub Wub

So she is now officially the most famous person I have had in the back (at least reasonably likeable, as opposed to Nigel Farage)
(although I found him to also be quite pleasant for the half an hour he had my attention, but then again, we didn't discuss His Politics).

It's shite.

There's only one thing to listen to for extreme full throttle filtering and that's this via in-ear headphones maximum volume.

Starting half an hour later meant a more relaxed morning, remembered my iPod so decent tunes on the way in, and although it is quite chilly, the sun is out.

Last working day of the week for me, and date night with the good lady wife tonight.

Found a fiver in the road while I was walking the dog. The last time I 'found' money was in Canada a few years
back, someone had just visited a cashpoint in a bank I was already in and dropped it. A couple of $100 bills. I ran
after them and handed it back it was only a very young kid and no doubt a lot of money for them to lose.

I decided to ring my mother.
But I was driving.
So I decided to see if asking Google to do it for me (because handsfree)

So I said "OK google, phone Mum"
And it came back asking "Who is your mum"?
So I tried just saying Phone Janet and Phone Grandmama ... hoping it would pick up on something in my phone book. But neither of those worked, cos clearly I had put her in there under something less normal. Eventually I said "Phone The Mother" and Google asked me back "Is your Mum "MumNZ" ?"
Why yes, Google: so it is ... Shocked
Responsse: Do you want to phone Mum Mobile or Mum House?

Remarkable. Cool
I always tell Google thank you when I talk to it and ask it for stuff.

So .... realising that it was simply looking for names in my phone book, I thought I would get it to phone my number 1 chaperone - but I knew he was not in there under his real name either.

So I said "OK Google, phone Sexchops."

And I got a response back saying "There are several entries, please choose the correct one".

I knew he'd had a few different numbers in his time (has been known to throw phone out of van window in moments of anger) so I looked at the screen and ... it had given me a listing of a series of "private" bookshops - you know the sort: the ones that usually have the front window painted black.

Tut Tut No Google! Naughty Google! Rolling Eyes
