I do like a nice top hat.

Especially when its slightly battered or crushed, like it might have suffered strife during some sort of unspeakable shenanigans.

I just sink like a stone. It takes a lot of physical effort for me to stay on the surface when I'm out of my depth in a pool.
Mrs grr swims brilliantly and has her padi certification, earned in a freezing cold welsh quarry. She also has the drysuit
qualification. I just wait on the boat/shore. Laughing

im the same I am a strong swimmer but I swim to get somewhere rather then swimming for pleasure
all these people on holiday who can swim with hardly any effort do my head in
if I swim I make splashes and cant tread water so if I get out my depth im fucked

Insurance renewal. Nice letter from Hastings to explain they are putting my premium up 50 quid this year to say thanks for being a repeat customer with no claims/change of circumstances other than a bike that's not quite worth what it was last year.

The meerkat alone has shaved 100 quid off, sorted l. May cross post into grind my gears about the changing twats and the inevitable drawn out phone call I'll have on Monday to cancel them

I made a couple of corner areas of the rear lawn into planting beds.
I'm no gardener by any stretch but I think they look ok.
Biggest gear oiling is due to less lawn to cut.

Seeing the Lancaster bomber fly low over Bristol.

Sent shivers up my spine.

Are there more than 1 or was it doing the rounds today?

A Lancaster flew over me when I was on the boat today in Northern Milton Keynes. There was probably something on at Silverstone.

You should visit the BBMF (Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight) at Coningsby.

You'll get a guided tour around the hanger where the Lanc, Spits and Hurricanes are kept and maintained.

We went on a day when they were going to do a flypast somewhere so did the tour then went back and watched them take off and circle the base from outside the perimeter fencing.

Finally got a builder round to look at a load of work I need doing.

I'll no doubt be posting in ground gears when I get the quote Smile

I've only just recovered enough muscle movement to type this but the KTM experience (mentioned in the Grinds My Gears thread) was epic. It may be a little pricey, at £185pp, but it's definitely a day to remember - and feel for the next 72hrs and counting).

Random arty pic...

Took it upon myself to drive down to Devon yesterday to have a bit of quality time with Mrs MCW and Ralphie in the new hoose.

I took down some cottagey garden plants and an early birthday present, also met a nice chap called "Monty" : a BCF fella I've never met before, a well-behaved, quiet and very polite one (!)

I also ate good (real) home made food instead of constant junk, we had a few laughs (well okay a lot of laughs), collected some empty boxes for my, erm, empty box project ... and then pootled back through some very nice back-roads of Wiltshire to avoid the eternal Stonehenge traffic queue ... and just got home.

Chilled. Cool Cool Cool

If you need to do it again come off the one before Shitehenge and pass through Larkhill, it's the rat run us locals use.

I think that's kind of the way I went, only I don't remember going through Larkhill. I did go through Upper middle and lower Woodsomething, and Wilton. And came out on the eastern side of the "sacred pile", then a nice straight run down to the end of the M3. Cool Thumbs Up

See, on the way down it wasn't congested on my side of the road but on the other side it was. Which may have contributed to the reason why I was easily convinced to stay the night Laughing

Calm your excitement, it's the support act over there (artillery). You want proper soldiers (Infantry) you need to come through Tidworth (though there is literally nothing of any interest here).

If she ever turns up, see if I'm available. It'll be nice to meet in real life.

I can arrange a bed for the night if necessary. And lets not forget those lovely big ears she's been longing to stroke
for months... Laughing She can even have access to my long shiny pole if she wants. Wink

couple of cable ties, and an old army surplus pouch fitted right on the back of my bicycle saddle stem, and takes a pump, levers, mutlitool, swiss army knife, wallet sized multi tool, and wallet sized multi spanner, and a slime filled tube

Saved me buying some overpriced thing from a bicycle shop anyway.
