I just made a most awesome macaroni cheese, which involves:

* Rigatoni (none of that nancyboy macaroni elbows)
* diced mozzarella balls which have been marinating in in oregano and olive oil along with some carciofini (what are those called in English?) and dried tomatoes for about six weeks
* a packet of grated cheddar
* some milk
* some chopped Milano salami
* Some of those fried onions that come in huge packets from the International Food aisles (for the crunchy topping); and
* a lorryload of black pepper ground over the top of it in the bowl.

I've only had a *small* bowl cos I am waiting for my Beloved to come home so we can eat together.

Shit pic, not taken by me, but this was another specimen to grace the sheds today.
Fairly rare apparently.

Roast hake with white bean cassoulet, pint of local cider. Served right by the sea.

Gears nicely lubed.

As it's the longest day National Rail Enquiries FB page are transmitting live video of train journey Aberdeen to Penzance, the longest train journey. It set off at 8:20 this morning. comments started appearing that this isn't Aberdeen it's Birmingham. Turns out it wasn't live and they played the wrong video. Typical rail service then.

I hope I can keep being paid weekly, I think I will be going monthly when I change jobs and close my shop. My staff used to love their weekly pay.

Right now.

I’m sat by the chimenea in the garden. In the dark. Bats flying over my head. An owl hooting the other side of the river.
My dog asleep by the glow of the fire.
I can see the stars.
A couple of whiskys have been consumed.

All is right with the world.

I am happy.

Weekly wages are great as long as you can budget properly.

Sounds wonderful. Sometimes just sitting watching the world go by is the best feeling ever.

Until someone comes along and destroys the tranquillity. Laughing

The simple act of shortening the bike has made it considerably easier to get it in and out of the shed-rage.
