I was modest and didn’t panic buy, I just bought one packet.

I was just a couple of days away from cutting up the curtains Shocked .
I did think about using my old bike magazines, but they’re to slippery and shiny.

Today I scored :

* A boxload of free houseplants, including two orchids in bloom.
* 4 sturdy bags of free groceries (possibly out of date but not THAT much)

AND

* A small black cat who probably only speaks Russian
(temporary, until she goes to her new owner, my sister in law, probably after the corona )

One of the cats brought a mouse into the house whilst we were watching rubbish on TV. Spent a hour trying to find it on my hands and knees as they then lost interest. The bonus to this story is that I got off my fat ass and got out of watching the rubbish he wanted to watch. Winner

That's one thing I don't miss about having cats. I had one that tried to drag a live pigeon in through a small window of the flat I was in once - feathers everywhere!

Yea it had climbed into one of the WWWW bits of the radiator (hopefully you know what i mean) so had to get a stick and poke it - poor thing the radiators were hot too!!

Eventually cornered it, picked it up in some tissue and let it go over the field.
Todays rescue will be tomorrows buffet no doubt though. They often display their leftovers on the rug.
Was irritated by a piece of string on the rug all week once, picked it up on Friday before hoovering to discover it was a mouses tail Sick

Mmmm, beet wellington.
I bet that's well tasty.
Beetroot wrapped in pastry and surrounded by a paste of overstuffed goose innards, I bet the vegans love that. Laughing

My sister in law was telling me just this morning about a dish she ha been taught that sounded like a glorified beetroot and chicken curry.

Been on a bit of a bender since Wednesday Laughing
Most unlike me but it was a release of the pressure after the ex-husband's death on Sunday.
Am now back on the straight(ish) and narrow (ish)

Also, I realised that now he's pegged it, I can stop worrying about whether I am properly divorced from him (decree nisi but not absolute) as technically it might mean that I am now his widow. So I can marry whoever I like* and not worry about bigamy.

*Not that anyone is currently presenting themselves as an acceptable candidate... Rolling Eyes

If the Decree Nisi is not opposed, it moves automatically to Absolute after so many days. I had the same issue with my divorce, and then I re-read the paperwork and I realised I was all good.

Did you know that if you slice one of those cheesy ciabatta rolls and dip it in beaten egg, fry it on both sides and then add crispy bacon, brown sauce and grated cheddar, it's a very nice snackaroo indeed.
