I thought I had come back at just the right time with all this talk of arses..untill the talk ventured to the unwashed.

Day off today and the house is looking and smelling great. Tasty steak for tea followed by a large white chocolate tolberone.

I'm starting to quite like getting older.
I mean ... yeah. Its not great. Everything hurts.

But shrugging off responsibility and a sense of morality that I have CLUNG TO for years, that really rules.
Where did it get me, and where will it take me.

Certainly not to what or where I fucking well *wanted* to go (not sure where that was, but it sure as hell don't recall requesting this life on any application form!)

There's woes and pain, discomfort and misery, and no doubt more of that to come, but they're everywhere anyway. Look what the hell has happened to the world now. Almost everyone's hard work and plans and savings all shot to fuck.

I like being able to loosen up my shoulders and give the world a big fat shrug and tell it to Do One.

Fuck stressing, fuck anxiety.
Just no point.

Historic taxation class. I've just taxed my 1975 RD250 for twelve months - cost zero UK pounds. It's also MOT exempt so that made me smile wider too!
I also insured it, fully comp, for less than 12 months tax for a big bike.
Result, twice!

The weather is crap. Freezing at night, cold during the day and non stop raining.

Yes, that did oil my gears, as I wouldn't be able to ride motorcycles at the moment anyway. I had some dental work done and my face got swollen and although the swelling is nearly gone now (it took 6 days), my jaw (teeth) is still rather sensitive. I can't fit my helmet on my head, as the cushions press into my jaw and when I take the side cushions off, the helmet does not really work.

*I'm gonna have some more dental work done this summer, so I might even buy a new lid, that doesn't press onto my jaw/s that firmly.

If the cheek pads are removable, have you checked to see if there are different thicknesses available? A thinner set might save you buying a whole new lid.

I'm gonna try to find some, but then this is my the very first helmet, now being 12-13 years old and it was also from the ''affordable'' bin when I got it.

Same here.

I just got a nice bonus for the year.
And then put on furlough.

That makes no sense, not that I'm complaining.

Just after lockdown started wifie was having a spring clean when she came upon a plastic model ship I bought many years ago and never made. So I have now turned into a true grumpy old fart because a couple of weeks ago I decided to do what all old men do and make models. Embarassed

I went through my garage and found my old paint and model making stuff I used to take to sea. It was mostly still serviceable except the glue and brushes but easy from Amazon so Thumbs Up I've been painting it in the mancave for the last week or so. I forgot how fiddly it can be and how bad my eyesight is so I had to order one of those magnifying lights to see what I am doing.

The painting is coming on. Maybe another 3 or 4 days and I will be ready to start assembling the hull. I shall bore you with more info and pictures as and when I start to assemble it.

I'm actually quite enjoying myself doing something that doesn't include real boats, motorcycles or rum!!!

It’s the small positive things in life that make you smile.

Here in the Pepperami household we are adjusting to a new ‘thing’ in our daily routine.
10.30am most mornings, we stop for a cup of tea and put the radio on to listen to Popmaster on Radio2.

Scored 18 yesterday Thumbs Up , as I said, it’s the little things Smile .

Heard banging and crashing and shouting from next door (this is the side that doesn't believe social distancing applies to them) cue the old man storming out of the house...

Rewind 12 hours, the wife noticed next door were burning some crap in their firepit/BBQ/unpointedbrickshambles - whatever, I could care less as they say. Around the time of "The Big Clap" I notice the fire seems to have... moved Shocked Oh dear, seems their decking is alight! I was contemplating mentioning it to them if it got as far as the back fence (in which case it might move onto our fence) but the old lady had noticed it by that time Sad Anyhoo, the word I think I'm looking for is schadenfreude Smile

Back to this morning. One of the kids next door knocks and asks my wife to check out the old lady (her nan possibly, there's so many of them it's hard to tell) apparently she'd had a go at the old man about the fire getting out of control so he'd lamped her and thrown a kettle of boiling water over her Shocked 1st degree burns and a trip to A&E.

I think this is the third or forth time the old man has seriously assaulted her (I define "serious" as Police turning up, draw your own conclusions from that.)

Of course, this sort of thing automatically gets reported to the Police and bless 'em they did turn up pretty sharpish. We overheard this from the plod next door: "...we're here to try help. I don't appreciate kids going 'no comment' to me!"

Wow... just wow! "Nobody snitches to the fuzz." but someone's just given your Nan a good kicking... "Nobody snitches to the fuzz!" but, but she might die "NOBODY SNITCHES TO THE FUZZ!" okay... very smart, I'll leave you to it Sad

When both your mother AND your daughter ask if you have lost weight Cool

In truth, the answer is probably "Not at all" really.

Must be the dress or the hair do or a trick of the light.

Seeing a Suzuki GT250a going along the road. A nice machine. Someone, though, had polished the head and barrels, which made it look very odd indeed, and unoriginal. Gears still oiled, though. After he passed, I could heat the exaust note change considerably as it disappeared into the distance outside the 30MPH sign...

Mmm... factory fresh Neutral Not sure how I feel about that. Certainly my father-in-law's Bonnie looks all the better for polished chrome (The Harley Syndrome) but I'm quite happy with "dull silver" on my bike. "Maintained" rather that "Restored" Thinking

The whole point is that they did not look like that when they were factory fresh. People over-restore things, and fit things to their bikes that are wrong for the year, and... and... and... grr!

Edit: Sorry, wrong thread.

The Falcon cam at London Met Uni.

Usually when I check in they're all asleep.
Today the parent has come and gone quite a bit and they have been awake.

Swallow watch: with six of them, it’s getting rather cramped in there now. I’m expecting them to fly very soon. One at a time they back out of the nest (as if to shit) but then hang on by their feet and flap their wings furiously which I suspect is to strengthen them ready for flight. I am going to try to capture video when the first one flies the nest.
