My point was that I understood what he was doing, and that it was explained in such a way that I could actually feel like I could achieve it.

Last week I blitzed the kitchen, including the worst job in the world (nothing to do with lobsters or Jayne Mansfield Wink ) - cleaning the extractor hood and filters of 5 years of accumulated grease Sick
Only the floor to clean now.

Yesterday, I washed the front door and the windows and frames.

Today, I washed the bike, and checked that everything still worked ok.

Then I washed the car Shocked
Well, I thought it might be starting to annoy the neighbours, half covered in green algae and with a flat tyre. The neighbourhood is starting to look respectable again Very Happy

I'm on a roll!

Sitting in the garden with a cuppa and a fag (non-American) is very pleasant this afternoon too. Hmmm. Garden next?

Chickeneybobs in mad spring cleaning mode Shocked

I'm also enjoying another "unfeasibly energetic" day, certainly workwise anyway. Kicking arse and asking questions later.

Realised today I actually need to do rather a bit of work-related research.
I have to google everyone who lands in my inbox at the moment.
Can a subscription to Tatler be considered a business expense?

Well I'm getting closer to finishing stripping the walls in the hall, the ones I started before Xmas.
I've got the wall paper too.

I've managed to get a load of stuff done in the house the last few months. Our bedroom has been completely remodelled, the hallway decorated, ceiling plasterboarded, electrical junction boxes replaced with permanent Wago boxes and connectors and all boxed in, meters etc concealed by a cupboard, kitchen redecorated, and a decent inline water filter fitted.

Oh and I've adapted an old heavy machine gun ammo box as a mailbox to replace our old rusted one.

I went to the local recycling centre/tip yesterday.
The lady in the car next to me had a couple of railway sleepers in her car.
The staff at the tip refused to take them because of H&S shite.
I took them off her hand all everyone was happy.

I need nine for my raised bed and I get two at no cost, happy days Smile

The war on disorder continues.
Finished cleaning the bike - clean, shiny, shiny, clean.
Then put it back in the shed Rolling Eyes
Did some weeding in the garden.
Mowed the lawn.
Sat out with a cuppa on another warm, sunny afternoon.

On balance, yeah, an oiled gears day rather than ground gears Smile

I was working on the entrances to a new school and one of the engineers was complaining that the DLR let them use their yard for a few years on the agreement that they cleaned it all up afterwards. Then he found out that he had 200 concrete sleepers to get rid of that no one had noticed were included in the agreement. It was only after I got home I remembered I live near a railway museum with a few miles of track who would probably have taken them off his hands.

Back in the days when I had a car, I used to like going to the tip.
The nearest one to me is right under the North Circular roundabout on the A13. They had a book recycling bin that was always overflowing.
Always worth having a poke about, if you can get away with it.

My Local tip won’t let you wont let you take anything these days.
The only reason I got lucky was because it suited them to stop the situation becoming a paperwork arse ache.

I got rid of my old built in electric oven and the 5 litres of oil just taken out of my car at my tip yesterday. It was a bit of a struggle with the oven so I made bloody sure they would take it by ringing first. Now.....where's my truss?

Discovered I hadn't put any expenses in since October Shocked Top tip: always be nice to the company accountant Smile It's like I had a pre-Xmas savings club running, very handy.

On top of that I strong-armed a modest pay rise which I suppose is no mean feat in current times but my boss can blame himself for that: in the last zoom meeting with a partner in Holland I was described as "...the company's chief developer" oh really? and there's me thinking I just made a nice cup of tea Rolling Eyes

I have been watching a watch on ebay for the last 10 days, badly described and crap photos.

This morning I had another look, he had updated the photos. Turns out it's worth more than the starting bid. A lot more.

Bunged in a bid and won it!

Always a bit of a gamble with photos. I would imagine there's people trawling the new listings diligently but not noticing the updates.

I had a nice chat with the bloke at the Harley garage, who says that my bike *might* once have had a chain, and that the belt drive could be a conversion kit.

He didn't even tut once about the state of my bike.
