I took Longshanks (Snotfeatures Cat) to the vets, to see if they might find something to give him some relief. As I suspected, he had a microchip and it turns out he lived somewhere round the corner, but had decided to decamp here when he was very young.
So they treated him as a "Missing Cat" and kept him in, said they'd contact the owners and let them know he had been "found".
Feels funny without that fat lump snorting chunks of phlegm about the place.
Edit: I haven't told hoffy yet. That boy has an unnatural passion for that cat, its not right ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life.

Today, I mastered boiling eggs. I steam those bastards to perfection!
Eggs into the pot, add a little amout of water (water level should be around 5mm from the bottom), start the fire, in one minute the water starts boiling, then put a lid on the pot and on medium/medium-low heat 8 to 9 minutes for perfectly hardboiled egg, 7 to 8 minutes for a perfectly softboiled egg. Then cold water treatment to stop the cooking process, of course.
*Cooking time may vary due to diferent egg sizes, I use (L) - large eggs. Google this method, if you are interested.
So, that oiled my gears today and also the fact that this method takes me only 1/2 of the time and energy, compared to the traditional (Slavic?) method of puting cold eggs into a pot full of cold water.
Eggcellent. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

I almost never put eggs in the fridge.
Not for any particular gourmet or health/safetynazi reason, but mainly because I have such a titchy fridge, space in there is at a premium, and the eggs already have a handy protective shell that saves them from going off anyway.

EURO spec eggs do not need refrigeration. We don't wash our eggs prior to storage/sale, so the natural protective layer on the egg stays intact. 'mericans on the other hand do wash their eggs, which means you have to keep those refrigerated, otherwise you risk salmonela contamination. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

The lady next door gave me a box of sweets, I think they're called laddoo, sticky yellow balls of semolina and ?saffron.
There was half a dozen, but when she gave them to me, I was stoned-as, so I snorted four in quick succession, then managed to stop myself.
Just had the other two now.
Gear-oilingly bad for me

Indian, I'm sure.
Not that it matters a whole lot. Silk road culture, whichever way you look at it. Kebabs, silk, sweets, rugs. etc. I've been to Southall and enjoyed ladoos prepared by Sikhs of Indian origin. |
Sounds a bit tough to chew. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Yes, she is a Sikh lady of Indian origin.
Feeds me quite often.
Not as often as she used to when I had Bruno, but often enough to oil my gears
I'm even more fond of burfi, Christ I could eat that by the boxload, all the different colours.
It's like the Indian equivalent of tablet
I am also pancreas-stressingly fond of baklava ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |
