I got called a rock chick today Laughing
*grin*
... by an impressionable media youngperson, to be fair.
But still, it made me smile a bit.

Fluffy old me. Nah.
I do rock, of course.

But I am not a rock chick.

Today I got enough done to consume a four-pack of Punk IPA and not feel guilty and, whilst having a nice cup of tea, come up with this theory: the optimal number of biscuits to dunk is just enough to not feel a pig whilst at the same time lowering the temperature of the tea to slurping territory without burning one's mouth Thinking

Passed the referencing process and dropped the full deposit on a flat today - the living in a caravan experiment was interesting, but ultimately detrimental to my mental and physical well being, so after 5 years (I've been trying to make this happen since before Xmas) I'm back to bricks and mortar.

Next weekend's move will be a scramble, but I'm looking forward to little things like having a bath, having to walk to the kitchen/bathroom/bedroom and having comfy chairs, plus a myriad of other things you don't realise you miss.

To give you some idea, as I walk through the door the bed is immediately on the right, then turn left through 90 degrees, walk 3 paces past the bathroom one side and the kitchen on the other and you're at the sitting area.

To be honest, I never got into the full swing of it - I have a full size awning, but I've always used it more for storage, whereas other seasoned long termers convert them into proper rooms, with floors and everything.

The last year it has seemed particularly claustrophobic and it hasn't been doing my mental state much good.

The new place has two bedrooms and a garage, so it's going to seem like a mansion!

I'm a bit out of the way for 'I was just passing by' but I'm not far from the M25/Dartford crossing, so yeah, if I can help out, let me know.

Finally got my daughters new bedroom finished despite the gas pipe mishap.
Fitted the carpet and moved her in earlier. She now has the middle sized bedroom after over twenty years of sleeping in the smallest room.
She's been at respite since Friday and has no idea what's going on.
She's back home tomorrow, I can't wait for the big reveal.

Sold the house a couple of days back and celebrated by spending the weekend at Clearwater beach, a place that should come with a health warning for all of those dirty old men with dodgy tickers ... Drooling

Apparently, the young male eye candy wasn't too shabby either. Laughing

Working with the Italian Shrink just gets more and more interesting! Cool
I've not even had my breakfast, or coffee Shocked
In the last week I've had more than my fair share of curved ball pitches, but its highly entertaining.

I need to knuckle down and go do my NHS job now.
Much more worthy but considerably less interesting Laughing

Hopefully I'll be finding mine again soon.
Mine have been buried somewhat due to redecoration but I swear I could see a bit of fretboard earlier.

Pity we didn't both find it at the start of lockdowns (although my whole life is currently a lockdown, of the financial type Rolling Eyes ).
Relearned the intro to Satch Boogie (didn't get that one enough under my belt last time, so had start all over), have figured out all the rhythm and some bits of lead for Zep's The Ocean, had a look at the Zep alternative to Killing Floor, aka The Lemon Song, and today remembered how to play some of my fave Buddy Guy licks. Oh, and only a short few minutes to get back on top of SRV's Stang's Swang, which I'm well pleased about, amongst much else. Yes, it's all going swimmingly Dance!
Got loads more I'm planning to look at - Led Zep's Since I've Been Loving You probably next on the list, and a whole shed load of other stuff I'm keen to be cracking on with Very Happy

Discovered that the un taxed or insured car near my house was unlocked. There is an element of grinding because I probably won't witness the satisfying pop of the dog shit bag when they jump into the seat for their evening joint.

For me it was a case of hearing some new music, which I started finding on YouTube. Not new genres that I hadn't picked up on before so much as just artists I hadn't heard before. Fired my enthusiasm again. Then I started to look again at some stuff I'm already pretty familiar with but hadn't got around to learning.

Before that, I'd hardly touched the thing for about 2 years...maybe more actually.
Trouble is, I can't afford to buy lots of new music*, and I'm not a big fan of streaming on things like Spotify.
I've sold too many good guitars in the past and regretted it, I'll stick with what I've got now. Probably wouldn't fetch much to sell them anyway, and I could never be sure I could afford to buy another in the future. I'd suggest keeping just one electric, and if you're into it, an acoustic too, which is where I'm at now.

My only problem now is I always get the mood for playing really late at night Rolling Eyes

*and there's loads I want to add to the library now too.
