Stumbled upon this bike today and learned that the NC700X was beaten to the whole 'fuel-tank-as-storage' thing by 20 years or so..

A 4 cylinder 250 that revs to 16.5k with a 10L storage compartment in place of the fuel tank. The compartment comes with its own light Shocked and the bike sported a lot of fancy stuff normally seen on larger machines. Cribbed that lot of info from https://www.dixonarchive.com/across/

A vid of the storage compartment in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqWuMv7Y2pI

Frankly, I'm quite jealous of this bike's practicality compared to the Ninja 250 I'm currently riding. I suppose it's just an example of what can be accomplished if bike manufacturers turned their efforts onto something other than moar horsepowah or moar chroam Laughing

Still has a fair bit more power than the current 250s anyway Smile.

The BMW650CS has a storage space where the tank would normally be, along with hand holds for a pillion to use.
