I'm new to these forums and what not I own a couple of different bikes including 2 late 80's tzr 125's a 82 gs 125 a 99 gs 125 and a 2013 pulse adrenaline 125

Was wondering if anyone can help I took one of my gs engines and put it into my pulse adrenaline, I also swapped the carbs over put a k&n on with it cause the pulse air box rubber wouldn't fit the gs carb! When I was runnin the gs with a k&n (wasn't all that long ago) and she ran sweet but now I've got everything in the pulse frame I can't get her to run right at all I've tried changing the magneto gave her a new plug a good service and I pulled the carb apart and chucked it in the ultrasonic cleaner made sure she was sparkling before it got put back on the bike and its still spluttering and running like a bag of bolts anyone any idea's

What type of carburettor do you have? Is it a 'slide carb' or 'diaphragm' type?

If it is a diaphragm type then the lack of air box would mess up the operation of the carb.

Its a mikuni slide carb mate I was thinking it was maybe lack of airbox but when I had the engine in my Gs hard tail she ran sweet I thought maybe the air filter was blocked so I've replaced it with a new one but she's still running a bot rough

Thanks very much for the advice that you've given and for anymore u give mate much appreciated

The pulse cdi mate I'm rebuilding my pulse engine with the internals of an old g's engine I have with a knackered crank case so I don't really wanna have to swap looms over if all else fails it will just have to stay running like a bag of bolts till I've finished the original engine

No problem. I must confess, I know little about the Pulse but did own a GS125 that had a few problems with the carb (although it was the diaphragm type so your problem might be elsewhere).

Perhaps the next thing to do is buy one of those spark checker tools:

Then you can see if the problem is fuel or ignition based. Ride it around and at the point that it starts pissing about, look down to see if the ignition circuit is doing what it should. If yes, then fuel/carb problem, if no, then wiring, coil, CDI etc.
