first of all, just signed up so hi to everyone here

have been driving cars since i was 16 (now 28) and recently took up motorbike first for commuting but now for commuting and weekend rides.

started and passed cbt on pcx125, got bored, bought a cbr125r and taught myself gears, have been riding in central london for past few months with no issues at all, now want to do my DAS

so onto my question, what riding schools in SE london would people recommend? and any to avoid?

want to get it done within the next couple of months

thanks

I don't know if it is in your range. But make sure you avoid Croydon Motorcycle training. They were horrible. The guy confessed me that he hates motorcycling. No one passed for a whole month when I was there.

Sutton motorcycle training is very good. They are honest good people.

Try Ace (https://www.aceridertraining.co.uk) - office in Bromley.

I did mine with them in Epsom, but the same instructors work at both places. Fiona and Tony were really good, got me through it!

Good luck.

I tried my DAS with phoenix in Footscray. Was going well until i had an off on the swerve the day before my MOD1. They were fantastic and professional.

My best friend passed with them on the DAS first time. Highly recommended.

thanks for all the replies guys. what bikes do the schools use? as i ride a cbr125 so used to that riding position, i rode a friends gsxr600 off-road and the positioning was a bit too extreme to get used to and tried out my friends cb600 i think it was and was way too upright with the legs too far forward.

i am 18st and 6ft3 so quite difficult and look like donkey kong on my little cbr but the positioning of the cbr i like, do any of the schools mentioned used cbr 600s?

I highly doubt it, that's a sports bike, expensive to insure, and bloody fast if that's your first go on a big bike.

It'll always be stuff like ER6Ns, the XJ6, beaten up commuter 600s. If you're that bothered call around the schools and see what they use.

will have a call around see what i can find.

going to call a few this weekend, from experience doing a DAS if you have been riding for a while (i commute daily in central london during rush hour) could you ask them for a free assessment to see what they think and how many days you would need?
