Peugeot speedfight clutch springs

When you buy a ZX ehaust for a scooter it comes with performance springs (I was told these go in the clutch?)

What are they for? The clutch? If so, how can I access this and install them? I would really like to know because the zx stops working properly once the engine gets really hot.

Yes the springs are for the clutch, they are a bit stiffer than the standard ones. There is a haynes manual for a speedfight that tells you how to fit them, in fact there is one in the for sale area of this forum. Its not the easiest of jobs, but if you want to give it a go...

As for it overheating, that would not be caused by the clutch spings. Did you change the jetting when you fitted the exhaust? If not, its running lean and getting hot. Get it sorted ASAP or you will kill the engine.

Only thing is i've never messed around with jetting before. How will I know what jets i need to get for the speedfight? Where do they do and how are they removed! ahh!

I suppose I need the haynes manual. Although, maybe some of you can help me further?

hey, my speedfight has just blown up after overheating several times. check your exhaust isn't blowing at the manifold outlet. if it is there will be really hot air circulating around the engine (on the other side of the cooling system <providing is is A/cooled)
id advise you not to put stiffer springs in because it causes the clutch to engage at a higher rpm and it really jerks at pull off, and it really dosent do your engine any good at all...
take it easy...
