YES!!! get in, finally found a minter that was in my price range!
14,000 on the clock, w reg, mint condition! £3k! and yes, that nasty luggage rack will be taken off!!

I want to know if you guys know of any nessicary mods that will improve my new beast. I see that a lot of people change the shocks and the dampner to the Ohlins ones, how much difference does this make and is it really worth the massive cost?

Also i know of the TRE that you can buy for these to de restrict the power, how much difference does this make also? i know they are cheap enough and easy enough to put on the bike but as a new TL rider im not sure if it is needed this early on.. what you you think?

I have got some Viper road legal cans already lined up as they are nice n cheap and LOUD!

anything else you can think of that would make it better, please let me know (and none of this...."buy a gixer" bollocks Smile )

Thumbs Up

Good stuff dude.

Hope you have fun with all that silly rotary damper and other TL design silliness.

If the cans are road legal, they wont be loud enough ...big twins HAVE to be ostentatiously LOUD.

Its in the bible.

When I first had one it nearly chucked me off by stalling at junctions.
- you soon get used to it, use a few more revs than you think you need to set off.

woohoo tlr!

love them bikes.

best thing to do is take the existing cans to pieces and rip out all the baffles and shit.

My friend has a tlr and a crf450 and its hard deciding which is the loudest.

he also took the airbox cover off, something to do with ram air?

Get rid of the Rotary rear damper to make the bike handle as it should.
Also standard TLR exhausts are stupidly heavy.
But they are great bikes to ride and enjoy it Thumbs Up .

Get the cans and a TRE on as a starter.
Tillers owners some times do an airbox mod which increases air flow by removing the actuators.
mine only has a TRE and Arrow cans and a good pair of tyres (CorsaIII). It still even has the rotary damper on as i have had no problems with it.

oh and i just replaced my OEM front brakes with Wavey ones, and there is so much improvement its untrue.

Have fun with it

He already said it's the version with a monoshock so that's fine Smile . Just needs some loud exhausts then! If you're on a budget try something like www.fuelexhausts.co.uk. That TRE and a double bubble screen and it will be sorted. NEVER take the hump off unless you're definitely taking a pillion, it looks terrible without it! Razz

Ride one with an Ohlins or simular aftermarket shock thats set up properly and you will see the difference.

Its also worth doing the internals while you're at it, my front forks are currently getting fresh ohlins oil Smile.

it will make more difference than a PCIII and should be able to find one second hand for that.

Id always take a good suspention set up over a Powercommander.

If i sell my TLR soon, ill probably strip the goodies off it.

Harris rearsets, ohlins shock and damper, full yoshi the lot

Look at that Apex Very Happy, alot harder to do when you have a completly crap suspention set up as i found out when i approached the same corner on Bendys CBR600 and went incredibly wide.

bigwilly? that very kind of you! lol. thanks very much Cool

one other thing that has been bugging me about the TL....

I have been twatting round on my bandit6 for over a year now and the bike is the main source of transport. should i keep the bandit for the shitter months of the year or does people reckon the TL is up to the task? I dont want get the TL as shitty as the bandit has become over this winter, (fucking salty roads). Has anyone got any commuting experience with the TL? what do you think?
