PostPosted: 18:43 - 04 Aug 2015    Post subject: medicinal cannabis Reply with quote

this thread is prompted by people contacting me through BCF and other forums asking if I can help hook them up to medicinal cannabis
I really don't see the issue here, why can't people choose to try something different
I always try to help out when I can but its difficult when its considered illegal

BTW I consider myself a recreational user banking on the benefits it may have

but when it comes to medicinal or even life changing I see no issue with allowing it

But what "illnesses" are considered medicinal enough to allow it to be cultivated by the user/recipient of its medicinal value.

Not many, I'd imagine.

So does one therefore have to purchase the already-cultivated product from an "authorised" source.
Like, I dunno, Monsanto ... Rolling Eyes

I can grow nettles to help with, say, arthritis.
Indeed, any manner of other "medicinal" plants.
But not cannabis. How is this right?

the list is almost endless
primarily cancer and life ending conditions where if it helps there is no loss
no authorized source required, I have donated to causes like THC4MS in the past
good causes and if it helps the patient who cares

So far as I know, I've not got any illnesses bad enough to warrant the medicinal stuff.

To be quite frank, I'd just like to smoke it because it's a nicer buzz than alcohol, which is bad for your liver anyway.

Problem I have is that it makes me LAZY.
Not specifically whilst I am participating.
But two to three days later, its almost impossible to put one foot in front of the other, and that lasts for several days.

Therefore, frustratedly and very reluctantly not partaking of it as much as I would like.

It's only a matter of time before it becomes legal in the uk anyway, it's a wonder drug. the results speak for themselves.

That's weird, I never really get stone-overs unless it's from edibles.

Anyway, in CZE the marihuana for medical purposes is legal. The only thing you can get is weed ointments. Now, the quality and percentage of weed in those ointments is so low, that people still rather grow their own weed or buy it on the streets to make their own stuff to rub on their skin.

I think the UK medical weed will be the same.

Medicinal bacon sandwiches and recreational cannabis for me.

Medicinal cannabis laws are a waste of everyone's time because of how open to abuse they are.

I have no issue with people's right to choose for themselves, but the weed debate is often a false debate, with the pro-side being largely recreational users in denial of any medical problems associated with the drug. It's much more likely to be harmful than alcohol if used regularly. The only sense in which weed is safer is in that of overdosing.

This is a big part of why it was banned. If everyone got lazy and high on drugs, society would fall apart.

I gather MS society are very pro cannabis.

My mum had that disease and watching her go down hill was pretty horrific. Anything that can alleviate those symptoms should be allowed, even encouraged.

Cannabis to treat that, called Sativex, is actually available on the NHS, but it's not of interest to most of the "medical cannabis" brigade as you can't really get high on it. Many of them were hoping more for going to the chemist and buying a bag of high quality weed for "medical" use.

It's available on the NHS if you can get a doctor to prescribe it off label and if your primary care trust are willing to fund it.

Which pretty much means it's not available on the NHS.

thats funny as most of the people that approach me are not "smokers" to start with
or interested in getting High they specifically ask for LOW THC and High CBD
or even specific strains known to have results in others
or even to treat children for a number of conditions where conventional drugs don't work, or worse turns the kids into Zombies

technically you can get weed on prescription in the UK but it means visiting a Dutch doctor get a prescription
then have it shipped from Holland to the Uk, but Dutch medicinal weed is pretty crap and irradiated Thumbs Down and you can't have Oil
