I am buying a bike my first one. Bike is a cbr 125 and is in good condition but owner has photocopied logbook. Hpi came back clear. He stares he always copies important documents and has simply lost the log book. He is going back to Spain to live and has discounted bike by £25 which is what DVLA want for a replacement. They are unable to give me any more details.

It is a good idea or not to buy bike.?

For a rare bike, I may. For a CBR 125 - no.

I'd avoid, there's plenty of CBR125s around to pick one with the paperwork.

Get V5 or walk away.

He always photocopies important documents but he has lost the original. You would think someone who takes the time to photocopy all important documents would also put the original in a safe place.

Sounds dodgy as fook.

Agreed. With a photocopy machine, any V5 and some tippex you can make one up for any vehicle.

Considering that if he orders a log book it should arrive with 3-5 working days I wonder why he hasn't done so?

No doubt the V5 can be found at the nearest log book loan place.

Yup, I'd only wonder how many times he's "sold" it or taken "deposits" so far.

I'd almost be half tempted to report it to the plod, who hopefully sniffing out an easy open/closed case may go check it out and save another green biker from this potential sh*t feast Sad

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahah! Good one.

Wait... was serious? Eh?

About 1 bike in 10 on Gumtree is obviously stolen. Dibble does nothing.

Bike thieves are putting up pictures of themselves ragging around on stolen bikes along with their names and faces on Failbook. Dibble does nothing.

Bikes are being stolen in broad daylight by armed gangs who threaten bystanders. Dibble does nothing, except to deny even taking the 999 call.

"Civil matter", innit.

Agree with Da Borgster. I was knocked off my bicycle in a hit & run, all captured in glorious HD on my camera. Driver traced and insurance details given to me to pursue my claim for damages. That appears to be their interest ended as no request has been made to obtain the footage. Nice easy Undue Care & Attention on a plate, nope, no thanks.

That's a disgrace...
You know I'm sure the dailyHate would love to slap that up into an article?
Just make sure you practice your sad face for the pictures Wink

But in all seriousness...
This place is going to sh*t around us...
I know all of this is happening, read about it here and there but I am off in a world of my own between work and 'evening activities down the workshop' etc...

Its only going to get worse isn't it...

Best just to avoid it...
Gonna become continue to be a recluse and weld a bunch of f*ck off spikes onto my bike...
That may keep the derp at bay Confused

It's the same as when someone says "Will go through MOT" on advertisement, or my personal favourite "mint condition" when it's clearly been used.

They always go through an MOT. Whether it passes or not, is another matter.

Well, no they don't always. "Will sail/fly through" is plain dealing bullshit, but the ones saying "Will put an MOT on for the buyer," properly boil my piss.

No, you won't. If you haven't done it yet in order to attract buyers, you very likely won't do so after one turns up anyway. You'll say "Ah, tell you what, I'll knock £30 off if you want to just take it away tonight, mate."
