Put a new engine in it or rebuild the one you have. If it was seized there is no point in trying to start it.

Forgive my total ignorance but what's the guy doing wrong? Engine is spinning as normal, but just won't spark.

I'm not exactly experienced either so I'm not arguing either way, I'd just like to know more.

To the OP: I once had a no-spark issue which turned out to be a reg/rec problem. I located it, then pulled all the wires out and reconnected them. The bike then started fine. It must have been some weird imbalance of charge which was reset by breaking the circuit. Long shot but maybe try that..? This particular issue happened to me twice, and on both occasions it was after the bike had been sat unused for quite a while.

If it seized he needs to find why it seized. If the top end has seized, then the cylinders, and piston ring are most certainly damaged, as well as the piston most likely. But may be reusable depending on where.

It may be something in the bottom end, either way, something is damaged inside that engine and it needs stripping.
