This is mainly aimed at Stinkwheel but is general info.

I accidentally discovered that latex tube for catapults makes great alternative bungees.

For small ones get a bag of mini bungees, the thin ones about 9" long from places like B&Q that are utter shit, and cut the hooks off them. Use 5080 slingshot tube (available in various meter lengths from your favourite Chinese website) and cut to length. Pop a 6mm ball bearing in the tube end to fasten the hook.

For bigger and meaner bungees use the hooks off any old bungees and use heavier rubber tube and bigger ball bearings. Exercise band is a good source of hefty bungee rubber.

Also 6mm solid square band for Milbro style catapults, available at your local fishing tackle shop, is pretty resilient stuff but you have to figure a way of fastening the hooks to it.

The wide flat exercise bands rather than tubes can also be good for this to hold things in more gently and can be purchased on a roll.

Linatex ( A latex lining material used to 'line' the inside of pipes and pumps of process plants where abrasive products are pumped.) is the BESTEST sling rubber.

And steel Mill Balls (1/2"-3/4" dia )are the BESTEST ammo for a sling.

Steel balls have an almost straight trajectory when released from a sling so you hit wot you aim at. Stones are no use as they fly in any direction.
I used to kill rabbit sized rats instantly from about 50yds using a linatex sling with 1/2" mill balls.

Looks good. I'd wonder how well it would stand to exposure to UV light?

I did finally get some acceptable (and pretty cheap) ones at a paddle sport show from lomo.

We used to use Linatex at the back of our shooting range and it was tough stuff. Looked like Swiss cheese when we had finished though. Laughing
