Love to but... this is an ongoing investigation (according to plod) and i am out on bail... pending further inquiries...
Also my brief did say not to show it anywhere public till we find out CPS intentions!

Also tomorrow i will make my voice heard... i have already made the mother of all complaint... and of course there is the matter of replacing the helmet... at Mr Plod expenses... not the police force!

Although... i'd love to call bullshit..as if they arrest you without telling you so and giving you that "anything you do say" gibberish.. I believe you can actually fuck them up the arse... Rolling Eyes

Only been tugged once when I had an attitude on.. moaning about car being too loud. I gave him the sarcastic remark of "atleast people can hear me, with your fog lights on and lack of driver side brake light, you are more dangerous than myself"

He proceeded to walk back to his car and flash me on my way... I was only in a mood because I just got my front bumper crunched by some cnut who wasnt looking Rolling Eyes

That's just the tip of the iceberg...

That i can see: the initial incident... at the very least driving withouth due care...
then the criminal damage when he tried to grab my helmet, and failed
the cuff for no reason... although they could argue threatning behaviour
cuff and no caution...
bike recovered from their associates... costs to me

and the list goes on! I may see if my local MP takes the vids to WestMinster... directly to the Home Office boffins!

I'm calling shenanigans, because I can't see any way that those cameras would not have been erased or lost between the time of your arrest and your release.

Keggy i can safely say that the video is still there in all its glory...
when the van pulled... i sat at back(in the cell bit) and strangely they give me the helmet back... and that when i rescued the memory card. they probably had a look but didn't find anything!

As of copies... well there are 4 so far, plus the original video.

To me its just so hilarious, they did a half arsed job... and that is the cause of my retaliation... in the courtroom of course.

So were you formally arrested? Have you been charged? If so, for/with what?

And as you have all of this on film I'd say Mr Plod is going to be shafted.

I need to invest in one of these bike cameras me thinks!

I'm not going to call B/S just yet, as no-one believed my little story about a small incident involving plod the other week, and when you know it really happened it kinda pisses you off.

Not as serious or exciting as op's incident but a copper cut me up on my way to work, had to brake hard and locked the back wheel (I know, shit example of emergency stop) and he had the cheek to wave as if I'd just let him out, I get beside him and give it the stare along with "what the fuck" as loud as I can expecting him to pull me over so I can at least let him know how angry I am, but no, unbelievably he gives me the finger and fucks off. Nice, considering I contribute towards his wages.

In hindsight it's probably just as well he didn't pull me over as I'd have certainly come out worst off.

I presume you're in discussions with the IPCC?
If not, I expect you want to be very soon.

Oh and get all copies of CCTV footage too ASAP, for 'backup', if you haven't been.

How's about you do your job and tell ME why I've been stopped you bone idle thick pig?

They ask you in the hope that you say "i was speeding/talking on a mobile/getting a blow-job whist driving" thus incriminating yourself and making their jobs easier ("I was stupid/I'm really sorry" can be used as an admission of guilt in court). It also has the double whammy that if you say "I didn't do anything wrong" or "I have no idea" they can try and stick you with driving without due care etc if they're feeling particularly vindictive (as after all, you should always be aware of what you and your vehicle is doing).

I was told the best response to the question "do you know why I stopped you" is: "In the interests of not incriminating myself, I think it best you tell me officer..." or words to that effect. That way you are co-operating with them, observing your rights and not admitting to anything. Also, never agree with anything they say... For example, if the officer tells you that they stopped you for speeding and asks if you understand or have anything else to say, either say "no comment" or "I fully understand that you have stopped me as you allege I was exceeding the speed limit". That way, should it ever come to court, they will have to compile all the evidence etc and make sure that every i is dotted and every t is crossed (proper police work, heaven forbid) to convict you as they cannot use your own words against you.

The only downside to this approach is that it immediately tells the copper that you might be a bit of a smart arse and it may go against you... But between admitting you were at fault and hoping that an apology will get you out of a ticket, or annoying the copper a little and making it a lot more difficult to pin a driving conviction on you, I know which I will go for!

This!

As a man (/boy) who got away with 8-9 absolute throw-the-book-at-him banning offences at the road side, bang to rights. Smart arse is not good. Admission of guilt is not good. Skirting the issue and trying not to look like a dick is the way forward.

And occasional use of big words, that helps. Makes you look educated and separates you from their usual tugs.

As for the OP, whilst they may have been out of line, your initial post screams noob biker at me (anchors is bike talk, 'use an avoidance manoeuvre type 1... would that be 'try not to hit things'... I never got taught that, I'm sorry to say. Picked it up somewhere mind you).

An alternative way to view this event is you were going too quickly, copper pulled out and stopped, you overreacted because of poor observation/road positioning, and then gave it the bunny as you went past. Preaching your rights in that situation will get you thugged. I hate British cops, but you have to know how to deal with them, and you massively failed the attitude test on several counts. Good luck with the case, but in future you may want to revise your approach Wink

Oh, and I don't believe in SMIDSY's either. Just to open that can of worms. At least non-avoidable ones. Or maybe my can is just that loud.

Think he's talking about the hazard avoidance manoeuvre in Mod1, which is about the only good element of mod1 since it teaches you how to throw your weight at the bike to get it to turn briskly.

You'll lose, evidence will go missing and police will be found to have acted in accordance to the highest blah blah.

Remember this?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1300608/Robert-Whatleys-car-window-smashed-OAP-dragged-police-officers.html

The two police officers were cleared of misconduct and were found to have acted to the highest standards expected of police officers.

It feels like a clockwork orange tbh, where they hire thugs as the police!

Expect Mr James to come and defend the actions of the cop no matter what.

Hmm, still, a bike will only swerve a certain amount before it washes out. 'Throwing weight at it' doesn't particularly inspire confidence. Besides which, some butch counter steering is all that is needed (after some heavy breaking).

Why have you been stopped:
Also seems perfectly reasonable 'tactic' to judge the person.
Say someone pulls out on you and the police stop them. I'd hope they got treated differently if they said "no idea why you stopped me, you tell me" to if they said "terribly sorry officer, I misjudged the speed of that motorbike".

I got treated reasonably fairly when I got stopped for a sillyish speed and admitted it as well as telling them a little under the speed they got me at (though more because I didn't want them to see I didn't actually have a speedo Smile.)

Lets say instead of a seat belt, it had been a case of that person having damaged your bike.
He then knocks a policeman down, drives off and doesn't stop for some time despite being pursued by the police. He only stops when they go to deploy a stinger.
How would YOU like that person to be treated?

Seemed he didn't have the wherewithal to be using the roads and deserved what he got for driving when obviously not mentally capable.

Did you read the account given by the OAP? He had already stopped thought the matter was dealt with and so went on his way. He then says he thought they were giving him an escort, he wasn't speeding.

When he does stop, the officer doesn't try to remove him via the door handle, he smashes the window straight away, that seems a little excessive behaviour for someone who is obviously not attempting to flee.
