Facebook ID BS.

So it turns out that someone (a male, I have his name) signed up for facebook with my email address. I discovered I could log into the account ages ago and did do once, that was after I thought it was one of my old ones that I forgot about since the male has the same first name, when I discovered the last name was different I logged out and left it at that.

So today I look at my spam folder and receive a post code lottery email, turns out I have an address of which this person must live as the postcode takes me to a particular address on google maps. The email was addressed to the other person.

Anyway, no harm done.. the facebook account is locked after I just tried to gain access to it and is requesting ID to be uploaded before being allowed to get unlocked ( facebook).

Is there anything I should do in this situation or just delete the email with the details and carry on going about my business now that the account is locked?

Email hasn't been used for anything else in this persons name.

sounds like what I've been enjoying lately.

I'm getting a number of invoices for a guy in the states who, I presume has the same name as me.

My e-mail address is firstname.lastname@googlemail.com

the e-mails I'm getting are to firstnamelastname@gmail.com

apparently in a gmail / googlemail address the . is just for show

Google's explanation as the address I've had for years is in use the yank must have added a letter or number or something to his address, e.g. making it along the lines of brianjsmith@ or briansmith82@ and then forgotten he's added the letter / number

he appears to be an electrician in the midwest who buys firestone tyres from a large wholesaler, has a tinder account, subscribes to porn sites and owes a few people money.

A lad with the same surname as me used my email address for a load of compare the market car insurance quotes.

I text him his full name, address, DOB, occupation, driving history, his mum's name etc etc and asked him to pack it in. I received a ridiculously polite apology .
