Opinions on vfr1200

Evening all, I'm starting to get together a shortlist for a new bike (not brand new) for early next year, currently I ride a z750s, Ive been looking at the z1000 for my next bike.
But after going down to my local bike meet the other day I saw a vfr1200 which I quite liked the look of, has anybody owned or rode one of these? If so what are they like? Also any other bikes you might suggest in the sport tourer range?

Most think they're ugly, but if that's not a concern...

From an hours test ride back in 2010: Nice engine, but the limiter cuts in far too soon. It also handles well, but doesn't completely mask it's weight/size. I found the shaft drive a bit jerky, but they probably all are. It's certainly not slow.

I'd prefer a BMW flat twin for touring. If you're more inclined to the sports element, then the GSX-R1000 is available for £9999, with £1 down and 4(?) years interest free credit. Can't argue with the value, and I reckon it makes a pretty comfortable (and extremely capable) sports bike.

GSXR1000 is s cheap right now. Especially compared to the opposition.
