Hi all,

Bit of advice if you would, my girlfriend has been receiving emails bout a gumtree ad for a 125 bike which she apparently posted. What concerns me is that the advert actually shows our address and my girlfriends email, so it's very unlikely it's a mistake. The bike is also suspiciously cheap....
Any thoughts? Needless to say the bike is anchored to the ground tonight....

Your girlfriend is selling your bike without your knowledge?

Sounds like her account has been hacked somehow.

She might want to reset/change all her passwords for everything internet related and also contact her bank and inform them ASAP.

Others on here will be able to assist you more but, I would certainly do the above now.

So scammer takes pictures of bike in street. Advertises for sale (cheap) Auto forwards email responses to scammer disposable email address?

Gets responses, arrange to meet. Steal bike. Take to unwitting buyer. Sell for cash.

No stolen bike to store, sold on probably before you even know it's gone.

That's my guess

Move it, report ad. Buy more big chains.
