Before I start buying gear online, do the people of BCF have any go to suppliers or people to avoid?

Hoping to have a hassle free shopping trip...

Trusted companies I'd go with sportsbikeshop and J&S. From what I've read sportsbikeshop do reasonable returns and don't moan about wanting to exchange for a size up or down if you order the wrong size. Had a couple of good encounters with J&S doing me a discount on damaged goods from new, and fixed my helmet when the base-plate broke within minutes of turning up for nothing, pays of to be a returning customer with them.

Places to avoid, probably eBay, you can get some good deals on second hand gear and there's plenty of good sellers but just look out for the ones who advertise expensive gear at a cheap price, alarm bells ring, looks at the sellers feedback and form your own opinion.

eBay, the place is flooded with cheap motorcycle gear, some of it shite some of it quality. I'd only buy a lid new, don't care about someones sweaty hands (gloves) personally, that's what washing machines are for.

Avoid eBay for bike gear unless you know exactly what your after, & you know how to spot the del-boys. Sportsbikeshop are well alright, & i've never had any problems with Ghostbikes either. If your looking for a new helmet i'd suggest finding a shop that stocks it, go & try it on first before ordering it online, save you sending it back if it dont fit

Before making an online purchase make sure that you have done enough research on the product and the company. So you will never risk with your dollars.
When it comes to ebay you can get easily find best to worst listing on it.

I have managed to get some great no brand gear from Ebay. For branded Ghost Bikes do good stuff at decent prices. As well as the listed above.

I have had excellent service from BikersGearUK - they have an eBay store, but their prices are sometimes slightly lower on their Website.

Occasionally, they have things on eBay that aren't on their website, and vice versa, so it's worth checking both - especially for new arrivals and clearance items.

I have had Jackets, Trousers and Gloves from them (all with the 'Phillip Island' brand) and the quality and fit is excellent.

My only slight criticism, is the quality of some of the armour inserts, bet these can easily be swapped if you wish.

I prefer not to buy bike gear online - fit is really important.

It's a bit underhand maybe, but you could always try something for size in a brick-and-mortar shop and then search for a deal online?

I am not much a fan of brick-and-mortar stores and usually get my products online. My most trusted online retailer is a french website who ships products internationally as well. Never faced any kind of problems with this online store.
