What do I need gear wise?

Just says a helmet on the website, is that literally their only requirement?

Riders of motorcycles, quad bikes, go karts and anything else deemed similar by the track manager are required to wear suitable protective clothing. ALL limbs need to be suitably covered. Leathers are highly recommended but jeans and a protective jacket is acceptable on slower bikes (a bike you would ride to the track for example). Gloves are mandatory.

Seems a bit vague about kevlar jeans/jacket and what is a 'slow' bike Laughing.

I'm going to go in leathers to play it safe I think.

I have a decent leather jacket, my trousers appear to have shrunk though. Laughing

Unless I can source some more generously sized trousers before the end of the month I'll be be in my kevlar jeans or textiles I reckon.

Paddys got my spare 40/42" (more like 44" I would say) 1-piece. If hes not too far from you and its any use you're welcome to borrow it. The zips a bit buggered though I think.

I'll be going in textiles. They recommend leathers but it doesn't mention them as a necessity.

44" would probably be a little too spacious! Thanks for the offer though.

I've got a bid on a pair of leather trousers anyway, 40" waist is still a tad on the baggy side but given the last pair genuinely came up smaller than expected (not just me having eaten a few too many pies) it'll probably be a welcome extra 2 inches!

My girlfriend suggested crash dieting, such a woman solution Rolling Eyes Laughing

Brand new Hein Gericke leather trousers in fat boy size, secured for £35. Winner winner chicken dinner, discount label attached at £180.

Is it actually worth me bringing along a small clamp for the rear brake? Surely wheel spinning isn't a necessity on a bike barely making 100bhp?

Anybody up for riding in convoy from London?

Lakeside usually gets my vote for a meeting point, but happy to meet wherever suits people so long as it isn't miles and miles out of the way.

I could be at Ace Cafe to meet as it's going up towards the North...

If the forecast is fair then I'll be going up from Kent in my van, so I can bring some tools etc with me for any tinkering. If the weather isn't playing ball or if work throw in a spanner I'll be giving it a miss.

Looks like I'll be going if the weather forecast stays the way it is. What time are people aiming to get there?

I'm not coming up from the south so I could do with a mobile number or 2 so I can meet up with you all at Santa Pod.
