1.57 shows the real down-side of using a bike engine in a car. Too tall a first gear and a lack of get-go torque. If you gear it down so that it doesn't bog off the line without slipping the clutch then you limit the top speed severely.

Not watched the whole video, but I remember a build on the Mini Forum similar to this. One of the lads built an R1 Mini-Minus.
Very fast little cars, as they're all fiberglass so weigh feck all.
As Pete says, downside is the lack of get-go because the engine is designed for a 180kg bike.

The Mini forum cars I saw being built (Was probably 4 in total) all played with the gearing to have a top speed of around 120/130mph.
In fairness, any faster in a mini in truly horrifying anyway.
