HELP ME! ive just bought a speedfight 70cc, with race pipe, race clutch, rave variator, race gearing, race reeds. basically it has an engine woth nothing on it which is standard.
my problem is when i pull away from a standstil the bike seems to rev quite high, then the clutch seems to catch on immidiatly, (no way of riding the clutch) and when the bike warms up. pulling away seems to judder (like pulling away in a high gear on a geared bike)
can anybody help me with this problem?

most likely the "race" gearing and clutch. the clutch is probably very harsh with tall gearing.

standard speedfights judder sligtly when pulling away so with one so tuned it probably just makes this seem a lot more vicius. id not worry about that and id save up for the repairs that you ARE going to need on this bike!!!!!!!!!! Thumbs Up

try the clutch plates and rollers, as once the rollers get a flat spot they dont work well

people tend to rev scooters up so it nackers the clutch and rollers

I'm with the others in saying that it's the "performance" (well they don't actually improve performance reall Laughing ) parts causing trouble with it. My thoughts are it would be best to sell it now before it gets worse and get something which is pretty much 100% standards.

My Penny Coin Penny Coin for what it's worth.

To be honest I think all SpeedFights have the same problem, the 50cc one i've got does the same thing and hasn't had a problem since my brother bought it 2 years ago. Keep on top of servicing and use decent oil in it and you'll be fine. Thumbs Up
