MOD1 no practice for £40! ****UPDATE. PASSED!!

I'd booked in my first 600 lesson for Tuesday and then test the next week, but a cancellation has come up and they said they'd do it for 40 pounds. I've had no big bike experience but ridden 125 since December.
It's got to be worth a shot with an hours practice before hand yeah? It's Monday so wouldn't even have time to get worried about it.

What do you guys think and what should I remember for Mod1?

Go for it! £40 and it includes bike hire, fuel, the test and an hour of tuition.....bargain.

Personally, I think that has to be worth a go.

Got to be worth a punt, if you take to the big bike quickly you'll only need 1 or 2 goes of each element which would only take an hour then straight into test.

Worst case scenario you go back as originally planned for the full training and get mod 1 done that time

Thats what I'm thinking. £40 practice but still good practice.
The school is a reputable one in the area.
They were going to book me in for the 25th but I couldnt decide if I wanted to back to back Mod1 and 2 or do them separate. I also had doubts over getting time off work as the job is stressful enough at the moment.

So the Monday last minute test is due to a cancellation, the school said the fact I'd been riding 125 and had passed cbt would at least give me a chance of passing and they suggested dropping the price for me.

So I am calling them this morning and my gut says go for it. Nothing to loose but £40.

Good luck - but have a look at a few videos on YouTube for some tips, particularly observations.

Also remember you can have a lot of room around the cones, no need to go too tight and risk putting a foot down.

Unless you are small, bigger bikes are easier to ride than 125's anyway, they feel more stable.

Going to try and get a last minute lesson in on Sunday, just so I can have actually Sat on one before Monday.

Cheers for the good wishes, yes, watching lots of videos on MOD1, while also try not to overthink it.

I passed the mod 1 without any practice but I did it on my own 125, so a bit easier.
If you have an hour to get used to the bike then you should be ok.
If you watch the mod 1 videos on youtube you'll have a good idea what its like.Bit different when you are there for real but they do help the course seem more familiar.

2 minors;
1-bit too much back brake on the Emergency Stop.
2-Didn't realize the kickstand was still down so it wouldn't start.

considering I hadn't sat on a big bike until 30 minutes before the test to say I'm overjoyed is an understatement!

Bring on no:2 and get bike shopping!!

I think he must have seen me push on the back brake when I started to stop but it cant have locked as you're right, he'd have failed me.

Could not believe it when he said I'd passed.

Still hyped up from it now 3 hours later!!
