'89 FZR 600 rattling noise

Hi there, I've just bought a 1989 FZR600, and rode it 3.5hrs back home. It went and handled great, and was great fun! May have seen 3 figures on the speedo..... Whistle
When back home and riding around town at lower speeds I noticed that it sometimes has a rattling noise under acceleration/deceleration (at the bottom end) It seems more noticeable with a pillion passenger onboard.
I'm thinking it could be coming from the chain or sprockets but has anyone else experienced anything similar?
Grateful for any advice.
