I have got a Daelim S-five 50cc. My crankshaft bent so I changed it. I changed the crankshaft, the piston and all the other parts, generally everything in the engine is new and correctly placed. When I try to turn it on with the electric starter the crankshaft-piston does a full round and then stops. Then again another round and stops. And again and again. I checked my spark plug for sparking and it works just fine. But right there, I saw something weird. When the spark plug is removed and I press the electric starter button, the crankshaft-piston do their cycles normally without stopping! Can you tell me what could be wrong? I am totally frustrated with this and have nowhere else to turn to. Thanks in advance

Weak battery can't turn it over when the spark plug is in because of the compression?

Does it have a kick start, what happens if you use that?

Jaysus, that's a true labour of love.

Why did it bend?

How did you set the timing? Did you replace the spark plug and if so with what? Is the cylinder hitting a valve or the tip of a "projector" plug? Did you replace the head gasket with an OEM one or did you smear a bit of hylomar in to try and get higher compression? Are you getting fuel coming through?

Probably the battery though.
