Holidays and Sunbeds.

I'm going away soon to your typical euro beach/pool holiday there has been some tripadvisor reviews about people reserving sunbeds with towels and then leaving them unoccupied until they want to use them.

I'm of the opinion if a sunbed isn't being used fuck the towels I'm folding them up (if they are lucky) and putting them somewhere else while I use it. I will have a bit of tact and make sure the 'owner' isn't at the bar/ swimming whatever. I just wondered what the etiquette is for this sort of thing? Surely it can't be accepted that a towel means you own it till it is removed?

Sell the German towels and use the money to buy some beer to enjoy on your sun lounger.

You can also move the sun lounger so they'll have no idea who's stolen their towel or their sun lounger.

I have a theory.....

Because Germany are 1 hour in front of our time zone, perhaps their body clocks tell them to awake exactly 1 hour in front of the lazy Brits, hence why they get their towels down before us.

Just a thought.

I'd start a campaign of frustration.

I've never really been a fan of sunbeds anyway, preferring to put my towel on the ground (or sand) anyway.

Start by rearranging the ones that have towels on them, so that the people who "pre-booked" them are no longer going to be lying next to whoever they thought they were.

Then try moving some or all of the sunbeds to a different part of the sunning area each day, maybe in lecture theatre style rows instead of one alongside the other, and particularly so that some of them are not in direct sunlight.

Put your towel down on the ground in the place of the sunloungers.

Maybe, start taking the towels off, and folding them up under other sunbeds, still with towels attached, and perhaps even in other parts of the sunning area.

Keep some of the in-flight magazines, and leave them open face-down on random sunbeds, so it looks like someone else has booked the sunbed over the towel-owner.

Draw Union Jacks in marker pen under the bottom of some chairs, and claim patriality.
