Ok long story short, I'm trying to find my dad, who left my mum when I was born (37 years ago)
I've managed to find his mother and sister who both moved away from this area but have not heard from him in 27 years by then he had moved to France to work on yachts..
Sooo armed with as many of his personal details as I can get, date of birth pictures etc where should I start?
I realize 37 years is a long time and having spoken to his mum and sister,
they were all told to have no contact with me by mum and her family but they are all happy to meet me and have a chat etc and I've asked if there is a family reason for him not to have contacted them and they say not..
tldr: nobody from his family has heard off him in 27 years and have no contact details....helpfully his name is steve Brown... ____________________ Hyosung cruise 125(passed test on, sold) Kawasaki el 252 (better than expected but sold on) Kawasaki GPZ500S first "big"bike.(sold) ZZR600 E5..Z750 2007,ER5, currently on a 2008 Enfield bullet electra x and loving it..

Kinda hard to read through it, you might want to edit it slightly.
Anyways, pm me with all the info you have about your dad and I'll see what i can dig up.
Also, do this.

Good luck finding him, but be careful what you wish for - if his own mother and sister don't know where he is, he doesn't want to be found, maybe for good reason.
Two people very close to me spent a lot of time looking for birth parents, only to be extremely disappointed when they found them; if anything, they are now even more mentally fucked up than they were before they found their natural parents.

I remember my father used the Salvation Army to find his sister when their father died. He always said they were brilliant at finding her.
On a negative note, he went to a lot of trouble to try and reconnect and make her part of the family again. This was during the early 80's and I was fairly young at the time so didn't know the full picture until much later, but basically she wasn't in any way interested, aside from asking my dad for a £5k loan (she didn't work, and was never going to repay it).
When my dad said no, she went berzerk as apparently he could afford to give her £5k because he ran his own business and we lived in a nice house. 1982, £5k was a lot of money.
My dad tried to keep in touch, but eventually she moved a couple of times and disappeared again.
I didn't bother trying to find her when my father died. She can remain a long lost aunt.
I hope your story has a happy ending, but when people cut all contact it kinda follows that they don't give a fck. |

better to try than always wonder what if I guess. |
The hardest part is keeping an open mind, because you've only ever had one side of the story and you will have your own, deep rooted views as to how hard done by you were by this man.
My first wife's dad disappeared when she was 11 and she was constantly fed a diet of venom about him from her mother; we eventually tracked him down when our kid was born, because the wife thought he should know he was a grandfather.
We met him and, as an outsider, my opinion was he was a completely normal bloke, who had moved on, had a new wife and family and most likely did the right thing, because my wife's mother was a total psyclepath, as were the rest of her family.
I was sympathetic towards him then, but my sympathy for his behaviour has grown since I split up from my wife; it was the best thing I ever did and no doubt her dad thanks his lucky stars that he got out when he did.
So he might not want anything to do with you, but that doesn't mean he's a cnut, just that he has a different story to tell, one which you might not want to hear. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

my dad was given up at birth, managed to track his mum and dads information down but both his parents are dead, we did however find that his best friend of god knows how many years when he was older turned out to be his brother, he sadly died in a car crash a few years back. ____________________ GOOD GAME BODYGUARD: https://i.imgur.com/8WePGgf.jpg
