Hi all

I'm going to be climbing Ben Nevis with some work colleagues in a couple of weeks, and I'm heading up on the bike the day before to camp out, it'll be my first tour on the bike since I passed my test last year. I've got a loan of a wee 2-man tent, and I have my Kriega US20 tailpack, a small tank bag and a backpack to carry everything I need. My dad has my sleeping bag and I'm thinking of getting a mattress or a colleague has a folding bed I might be able to fit, to keep me off the ground at night.

The sleeping bag is just in a nylon sack, and I think the mattress/bed will be in something similar. I have bungee cords to lash everything down, but given I'm in Scotland and our weather isn't exactly known for being nice, I was wondering if it'd be worth/possible getting a tarp/cover to keep these dry on the back of the bike. I've been having a look but so far haven't found anything other than buying more storage which I don't want. Any ideas?

Waterproof bag?

I put the sleeping bag inside it's stuff sack then put all that in a waterproof roll top bag. That way I know it'll stay dry no matter where on the bike it's stored. Plus side is as it's air tight you can squish more air out of it and make the sleeping bag smaller.

If I remember correctly mines around a 10 litre and just fits my summer sleeping bag in perfectly. I even got one the same colour so it's looks like it was made for it ... Embarassed
