Spring loaded mirrors? (Bolt-on type)

For the type of bolt-on mirror pictured below - does anyone know of a spring loaded mirror (or spring loaded mirror mount) that can bolt in? (i.e. bolt it in, and then it'd have 90-degree spring loaded motion, so it can fold in and then snap out into the same position again) Some tight filtering moments mean I have to fold them in, but I always end up with a floppy mirror (not a euphemism) and have to mess around with a spanner to get it tight again.
Is this an unattainable dream...?

PS - I know bar-ends are an option, but it's the above I'm interested in...

It uses RAM mounts for the mirrors - quite a nice idea but really expensive and highly nickable (you can get RAM mount locks, but they're another £25 each)

So what you are saying is you are wanting to be able to just plow your mirrors into other peoples vehicles and for the mirrors to spring back out again?

THats not how I read it. He wants a mirror like on a car, where you can snap them in, and then snap them out, and they end up in the same position.

I too am interested in this, but don't really have a solution. I always thought about buying some mirrors off a faired bike that do it, then create a bracket for the mirror with a standard thread on the bottom, and plate to mount them to on the top.

If you search for 'folding mirrors' in bike parts on ebay there are a few solutions, not sure how well any of them work, though.

Faired mirrors aren't any better. I'd love the same thing though.

I have an idea in my head for a way of doing it properly, not sure I could describe it but I can probably draw it out tomorrow. Basically two opposing castellated/Waved sections that bump over eachother, held together by spring tension. Would only work on bar mounted style rather than fairing.

From what reading I've done, the touratech flip mirrors are the best. The ram mount ones are too fiddly and look shit.

I'm having this exact problem too, but with a faired bike.

Had a fazer, that had spring loaded mirrors, was brilliant for tight filtering up to the lights. Once folded, a little push and they'd spring back into their original position.

Now got a cbf, and the mirrors are fixed, and fazer mirrors have a different mounting system and don't fit
