If you are wearing your cut and your chaps the popo will know that you are a real member of a bike gang or MC and they will leave you alone cos above the law and rebel and road warrior innit.

If you're going off Sons of Anarchy, they wore a different helmet in the episodes set in Ireland.

A friend of mine sometimes wears an American GI helmet from WW2 while riding his 1940's Harley that saw service in Normandy

gets away with it...

You can wear anything you want within the boundaries of legality/morality/common sense/banality/etc.

Don't get why people need to wear some kind of stupid dictated-by-others 'uniform' just to go for a ride.

You wear what makes you happy chap , if your looking at a safety aspect of it , then your better getting all your leathers and a full face helmet.

In my opinion its all just fate , when the big man calls its time to go...
In 92 my bf died racing , there bikes touched on a hill, one went off into the field , not hurt , my bf broke his neck..

I have had friend since had a serious bike accident , he was only doing 56 Mph , he has had to lean to walk and speak again , brain damage..
And I can tell you he had the best helmet leathers money can buy on..

I don't think about things like that , if you did you would never ride..
I love my bikes and will always ride , wear what you want...
If you want to see what helmets there wearing on lowriders chops that sort of thing just go along to a biker event or a pub where they drink , there not going to hurt you , a lot of them are nice guys...

You can massively change said 'fate' by the decisions you make.

I suspect people with the above attitude are more likely to get their call early.

Whether wearing an item normally used to serve salad as safety equipment will actually make a big difference is another matter.
Probably will make a difference to how your face looks and pain you're in after a less serious accident.
