So how does that work for people using dodgy versions of Windows 7 with all updates/patches switched off?

Not me of course, my sisters neighbours brother-in-law knows someone that knows someone else who has a friend that mentioned that someone down the pub was using a dodgy version of Windows 7.... so I was just curious

You can still use windows update with a bootleg copy of Windows 7 after you've run the activator. There is an update for detecting non-genuine software, KB971033, but it's not automatically selected in windows update and you don't have to install it.

As for what is being discussed in this thread I can't see things being any different for you to others.

The dirty bastards!
I opened a cmd window ran the commands and found non of the above kb were installed, maybe cos I don't allow auto upgrades and only select/install security patches?
I recently did a fresh 7 install using wsusoffline for all the kbs 'n shit and opted out of the winX upgrade.

I would like to see a ruling that forces os makers and websites/search engines to offer a global off button for data mining, snooping and reporting home behaviours.

Can't see the nsa going for that one though
Thumbs Down
