Just a random question, does anyone else have a problem with their boots rubbing through the rear brake line? Neutral

The standard hose had about worn through to the braid, so iv swapped out for a nice set of hels and the same is happening again! i cant even reposition the bugger to make get it out the way Embarassed

Make and model of bike and shoe size would help.

Do you not have a foot plate between master cylinder and pegs to prevent this, or are you resting foot further back on swinger?

Do you have 'Quarter to Three' feet?

Maybe find a plate/guard to protect the hose.

Looks like all you need to do is either make a new, bigger heel plate or add an extension to the current one.

It's bolt-on and is drilled so cutting a new one out of a bit of alloy plate or simply bolting an extension through the drillings of the current one shouldn't be the fabrication job of the century.

At the most simple, cable tying a bit of plastic cut out of an old oil bottle to the current heel plate so it covers where your boot is rubbing should do the trick.

Can you move the brake line out of the way?

I wonder if when the banjo on the master cylinder was last undone it was done up with the hose pointing out more?

5ponds bet that you ride with your instep on the peg with toes pointing out.

Instead of feet straight on the balls of the feet.

I ride with ball of my toes on pegs and have the issue of heel plastic from boots melting onto the exhaust. Leaves horrible black marks on my nicely polished pipe.

Easy way to stop destroying brake lines then, is to fix your foot position Wink
