So just had a fibre leased line from VM installed in work.

So basically VM have given us a Cisco 2921 router, which is fed from a Alcatel switch with a gbic (which the fibre goes into)

VM have given us 2 IPs

62.253.180.110
62.253.180.111

Also to add to the confusion, i have just bought a Sonicwall TZ400

I cant figure how to connect it all into our Lan - which is on 192.168.10.0

the IP's VM have given us our public, but they didnt provide us with Lan details of the Alcatel switch or Cisco router

Am I being stupid here???

do i need another router that will use the Cisco as its gateway that will have the sonicwall in between them all??

I'd expect that you would connect the Cisco router to your firewall's wan interface and setup all of your access rules in there (with your lan being connected to the firewall's lan interface) .

Both the Cisco and alcatel will be managed by vm and you won't have any access to them.

Indeed.

That router will want your ext fw interface on their configured port.

You then configure your fw ext address to match that provided by vm and internal addresses on another interface.

That alcatel is likely there to convert fibre to ethernet however that router should have spf capability which is odd... why use the alcatel. Laughing oh well!

Ah well. If they provide and set up the ntu just use that. No real issue.
