After boots recommendations

Basically I've been wearing some RST tractech boots and they have been great for the last 6-8 months. However in the last 3 months the inner soul has started to get very loose and has now ripped clean out.

Don't fancy replacing them with the same boots I was thinking of getting something a bit more for touring. Don't fancy Goretex lace up military boots; just not felt that comfortable in them after a while.

So can anyone recommend any touring boots Question

Alpinestars Gran Torino. Got them for £115 over a year ago and they've done about 7500 miles in all weathers, plus some paddling in a flooded garage forecourt. I've never had any leaking and they still look new.

Amount of time you spend on (and off) a bike then SIDI will make a boot that suits you. And of course a lot
of them are re soleable, so long term probably will cost less.

I am using A* web goretex at the moment, owned for 2/3 years, would highly recommend them.

can only comment on what I've been using Alpinstar drystar, after a year of mainly all weather commuting, still watertight, pretty comfortable on and off the bike heels wearing well.

I've got a pair of Richa Adventure. Comfier and more flexible than others I've tried. Can quite happily be worn all day and are practical enough for walking about in off bike too.

My best pair of boots was SIDI , had them for years , I wear TCX at the mo , there very comfy boots.....

Aldi bike boots when they do them. I've had various 'expensive' boots but for day to day commuting the Aldi boots have done the job just as well. They have quite a flexible sole as well which might make them a bit more comfortable for touring when off the bike.

Currently wearing Richa Drift after getting pissed off spending £180 on Sidi's every 12 months I thought I would try a cheaper option. To be honest they have lasted about the same time the Sidi's did for me. They let in a bit of water after about 30 mins riding on a wet day after a year of riding in them. Thumbs Up

I was pleasantly surprised. Not sure what I will go for next but will keep an eye on this thread as I am due a new pair... (of boots)

For that sort of use I'd be tempted by these biking/hiking Altbergs for £185. https://www.altberg.co.uk/product/hogg-all-weather-original/ The uppers should last for at least 10 years. The soles ought to last longer than the Sidis, say two years, then you send them back to the factory for a quality resole. And I wouldn't mind betting that they'd be more comfy for walking than the Sidis. They could be your normal everyday footwear.

Sidi B2 Goretex I did have a pair replaced under warranty as they're a bit weak on the toes from kneeling down to chain the bike up but this pair is 2 years old and just starting to wear, still properly waterproof.

I have a pair of 12 year old Daytona non stop GTX which have been amazing never let a drop in and nice and warm.

but they were a lot of money then circa £200 lucky for me they were a 18th birthday present from my dad Smile
